I have been a volunteer of the SJAA since it was started in 1985. I have seen how the work of the SJAA impacted the lives of those with AIDS, HIV and those who are at risk. The SJAA has worked with the most vulnerable populations such as homeless, prisoners, and those who are hopeless and given them hope. The SJAA piloted a needle exchange program in Atlantic City which is the most successful program of its kind in the State. The SJAA has been at the vanguard of HIV/AIDS organizations in the region and, in some instances, nationwide.

SJAA does incredible work in the South Jersey community, serving some of those most in need in the absence of any significant government or large agency commitments. They make a little bit go a long ways and are truly focused on client outcomes and quality of life, offering some services that are not readily available elsewhere. From their Oasis drop in center in Atlantic city to prison counseling & services, nutritional and medication support and preventive services, this organization has proven a safe harbor to many in need, especially those afflicted with or at risk of infection with HIV. As a volunteer board member, I am very selective of those organizations to which I can spread my limited availability. Based on the quality of this agency's work, the dedication and professionalism of its staff, and the dependence of the community they serve, I can say that this is the most effective agency with whom I have served.

I have been employed with South Jersey AIDS Alliance for over 10 years. It is a great place to work because of the passion that is felt for the clients we serve. Over the years I have had the opportunity to work in numerous of our offices including the programs in the prison system. It is such a pleasure to know that there are so many programs offered to a wide population of people. I am grateful that I am able to help so many different people from so many walks of life. My experience with the agency has been nothing less then awesome for me.

I have known and worked with SJAA since the early 1990s when I started in the field in Bridgeton and Vineland. SJAA was WAY ahead of its time locally. I am particularly impressed with their efforts since Atlantic City became a demo site for needle exchange. Keep up the good work!

South Jersey AIDS Alliance has been an effective and caring organization. The individuals who have been serviced by them generally speak highly of their experience. I have witnessed them take someone from receiving the devastating news of their HIV diagnosis to being proactive for their own health and other aspects of their life.

when i first came to Southern NJ i didnt know any one. I am used to the big cities and having all kinds of service. SJAA has gone out of it's way to help me through all kinds of emergencies and situations. I am really lucky to have the support of the great counselors who they have hired. they are never tired or over worked to help me.
This economy has been really hard. I have struggled with employment staying afloat. I have always been supported with respect and care. The counselors are really hard working and dynamic. I am totally in their debt. they understand that we are going though a gigantic epidemic in a gigantic recession where there are many who are wishing to cut back services. this is terrifying too.
they really understand how terrifying it is to have a health problem and not know where to go or if i can afford to have it taken care of. they have really been helpful in so many ways. I am truly grateful!

This organization is dedicated to preventing the spread of AIDS thru education. It also helps those and the family members who have been afflicted with this dreaded disease. I Alliance is an exception in that just about every dollar raised is put back into the community, with very little going to administrative costs.
