SAN helped me during the time when I first seperated from my ex husband due to domestic violence. I was new to the US and didn't have much knowledge of how things work here. SAN gave me health services, Mental health services, case management, legal assistance and much more assistance without any cost. SAN's staff members were nonjudgmental and they were clear on confidentiality. They always returned my calls and helped me by adjusting to my schedules. Being an Indian I didn't have very good English, they not just provided linguistic services but also helped with me for interpretation at court. Without their help I would have died in a corner or possibly gone back to same domestic violence home I left. They stood by me and helped me become empowered female I am today. I found out that SAN provide services in various south Asian languages and I saw many of their materials in Hindi, punjabi, bangali, Gujarati, Urdu, Tamil and few other languages too. SAN is a sunshine at the end if tunnel I was in. They empowered me enough to get a job in the US and fight for my rights.
