As a local gerontoogy columnist in Santa Clara County, I am always looking for organizations who strive to make a difference in the lives of seniors and their caregivers. In doing so, I discovered Council on Aging Silicon Valley. The most interesting and innovative part about COASV is that they have created a 'one-stop' comprehensive system of community resources. They have been successful in overcoming the multiple point entry system or piece meal approach to helping seniors and their caregivers which is often frustrating a feels like a wild-goose-chase. Mission: Proudly serving Santa Clara County since 1973, Sourcewise strives to empower our community by providing access to information through a comprehensive network in collaboration with Santa Clara County, state, and local resources. As we continue to support seniors and caregivers, we expand our reach to include persons with disabilities and all adults in Santa Clara County. We aim to inform, educate, and prepare all adults within Santa Clara County to better navigate their health and life options. Direct services include Information & Awareness, Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy Program, Care Management, Meals on Wheels, Senior Employment, and Public Authority Services Hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
