I joined Soroptimist International of Folsom El Dorado Hills in 2014 looking to participate in a community organization and be involved in service projects. I have met some wonderful women through this group that both inspire and amaze me with their dedication and giving attitude. Our club consists of women in their 20's -70's with all different backgrounds and all looking to help women and girls in need. We typically hold 2 or more fundraisers per year and the money is given in the form of a scholarship or award to local women and girls to further their education and career opportunities. We participate in community events whenever possible and occassionaly donate to or sponsor groups that help women and girls locally or abroad. One of my favorite projects we do is Dress a Girl Around the World, where we work alongside another Soroptimist club to sew dresses for girls of all ages in less developed countries. Another cause our club is passionate about is human trafficking awareness and prevention. Together with the many other Soroptimist clubs in the Sierra Nevada Region, we hope to educate our communities and provide support for the survivors of this crime. I've grown so much from being in this club and knowing these women. I highly reccommend it to others.

I have been treated very badly by Soroptimist International of Folsom El Dorado Hills. Please remove my previous positive review. It is no longer valid. I do not recommend this organization to anyone. Please remove my name from this list. I do not want to be associated with this organization.

Soroptimist is an international organization of women helping women and girls all over the world. Soroptimist International of Folsom El Dorado Hills is a new club with almost 40 dynamic, caring women wanting to give back to their community. I am so proud to have been the charter president. I have been a Soroptimist for 17 years and have traveled to Australia and Canada for conventions, and also have gone to Fiji to meet Soroptimists and visit their clubs. Some of my best friends are those whom I have met in Soroptimist. I have traveled all over the world on vacations with my Soroptimist friends. Soroptimist is a big part of my life both because of the wonderful women I've met and the opportunity being a member gives me to help other women.

SIFEDH is a small group of hard working ladies that don't let obstacles stand in the way of doing good work to support our community. I have been a Soroptimist for several years and this is my second club. I am so much better for knowing these ladies and I am excited to support their mission of helping women and girls. I highly encourage folks that want to give back, to support this organization.

The two non-profits that I highly support are The Brady Campaign against Gun Violence and The Southern Poverty Law Center. The Brady Campaign supports important Congressional and state legislative issues that will hopefully lower the rate of gun violence in this country, which is presently out of control. The Southern Poverty Law Center fights discrimination in all ways and often helps people who are unable to help themselves. Both are excellent organizations.

I recently transferred to this club, because the distance to my club got to be a problem.
I have been a Soroptimist for 8 years.
However, I have watched this club from it's beginning and have determined that it is a dynamic group of women. They are a great mix of women working in the community and some who are retired who have a vast wealth of expertise.
This club also has the backing of the local paper, which is vital to recruiting and letting the community know what important issues they work on.
The women of this group are open minded and can address many issues in the community to enhance the lives of women and children, and thus strengthen the family and the community.
I presented the issue of " Human Trafficking" and they understood the issue.
Nine women came forward to work on this issue in their community.

We are a new club, but the organization has been around for a long time. Our main mission is to stop human trafficking. We do a lot of other things to help women and children in our local area as well as around the world. We have many great members and if you would like to get involved we would love for you to be the next member of our club!

I became aware of the Soroptimist International of Folsom El Dorado Hills through a friend and have found this organization to be professionally run and extremely dedicated to the cause of helping women and children. I was happy to donate to and attend their first fundraiser and was impressed with how well organized and executedf the event was! What a great way to introduce this newly formed organization to more community members! A portion of the proceeds will benefit Women's Empowerment--a non profit organization I have volunteered with for many years. The funds raised will go a long way with helping homeless women and their children secure stable housing and employment.
Thank you Soroptimists!

We are a new club, chartered earlier this year. In a short period of time, the club has impacted several local non-profits in a positive manner. Club members have collected food for the Twin Lakes Food Bank and linens for Furniture for Families; participated as volunteers and runners in the recent Run For Courage; and successfully raised monies to fund the annual Soroptimist Opportunity Award and make a donation to Women's Empowerment, a Sacramento non-profit which provides job training to formerly homeless women. I have enjoyed meeting women who are dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls.

I moved to Folsom in January 2013 and wanted to get involved in the community. I saw an article in the local newspaper for the Soroptimist group and thought it sounded interesting and thought I'd give it a try. Although the Folsom EDH club meets at lunch time, I take a break from working in West Sacramento to drive home to join the meetings! I love what we are doing for women in our community. This has been a very rewarding experience and I'm happy to be able to give back to my community in this way. Shelley P.

Being a member of the this club has been both eye-opening and rewarding. We have only been a club for a short time but I feel like we have a good group and will do wonders for our local community. Our main focus is to help with the needs of women and children and try to make lives better for those we help. There are so many needs in this and other communities that I would have never know about had I not joined this club. I look forward to working with them and making a difference.

I am a member of Soroptimist International of Folsom El Dorado Hills, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of women. Through fundraising, education and mentoring, SIFED members contribute to raising awareness of and resolving women's issues both locally and world wide. I feel that through my membership, I can in a small way, "pay forward" the gifts and opportunities I have enjoyed. Through SIFED, we can create opportunities for growth, enable gifted students, and help free young women from a life of oppression or impoverishment. What better legacy can there be?
