I grew up with misophonia but no one knew what it was. I'm 59 now and growing up with misophonia made my life very lonely and isolating. Thanks to people like Cris, the word is now spreading. Because of soQuiet, I have been able to pass out MANY cards that soQuiet provides. I can't change my past but, with help from organizations like soQuiet I can help spread the word and educate others the best that I can. A small few found out they also have misophonia after conversations with them. I happily informed them of the soQuiet site so they can know that there are sites out there to help and to not make them feel alone like I did for so many years. THANK YOU soQUIET!

First things first THANK YOU! Hopefully my point comes across ok because I sometimes have a hard time wording things correctly. SoQuiet and Cris have been a big help in a small way to me. Ever since I found out about the misophonia cards I have gotten them (I believe) 3 times as of this writing. I have passed out many of them and have explained misophonia a LOT in the last year or so with those cards. I feel that one of the key things is to educate others about misophonia so they can somewhat understand our lives. The cards I have passed out have helped me educate others the best I can. I'm 58 and have been aware of misophonia since I was 5 but grew up thinking I was the only one with this. About 2011 was when I FINALLY found out what I have has a name and that I am not the only one with it. With places like soQuiet, a once isolating life with something I didn't totally understand has helped me realize I'm not alone in this. I also feel that, with places like soQuiet it has helped a younger generation grow up with the help and resources I desperately could have used in my younger years. Again, THANK YOU for being out there to help others and to educate those who don't necessarily understand what we deal with in our daily struggles.
THANK YOU Cris and THANK YOU everyone at SoQuiet for EVERYTHING you do. You have been a blessing to me!
I am so grateful that, at last, there is a platform for this horrible disability that I have. It's exciting to be able to participate in newly formed Misophonia support groups online through soQuiet, and learn that I am not alone and that there are coping skills I can use. There is no cure for Misophonia, but there are now so many people doing research that I am hopeful we will have even more answers in the future. Please donate to this most worthy cause.
I truly enjoy the work soQuiet does in the misophonia community. As a misophone myself, I have been provided with resources that not only I can take in for myself, but that I can provide and educate others. Many of their tools have been conversation pieces for me and provided me opportunities to speak on what misophonia is to people who otherwise would have never heard of it. It has been an amazing journey and I cannot wait to see how much soQuit grows and continues to help those of us living with misophonia.
SoQuiet sent us little cards that explain what Misophonia is, so that my daughter who has it can feel more easily understood in the world. They send us research relevant to this emerging field, and present free monthly webinars with leaders in the field. We feel less alone because of SoQuiet.

Thank you so much for your kind words! We are here to help. :)
SoQuiet has literally changed my life. The support group has dramatically improved my relationship with my daughter who has misophonia. Since meeting my peers in the group I’ve been calmer and far more understanding and aware. I feel supported, and have a new group of friends who understands the struggle. In turn this has led me to alter my behavior in ways perhaps imperceptible to the ‘outside’ world but which are meaningful for my daughter. I’m so so grateful to the group and have recommended it to a client and to my chiropractor (who I just discovered has misophonia too!)

Thank you!
When the family discovered that my 12 year old grandson has Misophonia, we all began to research this “phenomenon”. I also wanted to donate to an advocacy nonprofit group & found that soQuiet is highly rated & respected. As soon as I contacted Cris Edwards I received an email, & he has continued his contact with me.
In the meantime I have followed soQuiet on Facebook, I have read about Cris & soQuiet in other publications, & have heard the wonderful contributions of his on the podcast “The Misophonia Podcast”. I trust his support & judgements in this perplexing field. THANK YOU!

We are here to help all people whose lives are affected by misophonia. Thank you for sharing your story!
We live in middle America and an audiologist suggested that my 9year old daughter, with above perfect Hearing may have a misophonia. He did not know much about it and referred us to some specialist in Connecticut and California as No providers in our area, outside of that doctor had even knew what the word meant. in searching for an understanding of what Misophonia was, so quiet provided us with lots of great information and understanding through their resources and learning segments. In the process of learning about my daughters misophonia in the last 15 months, I also learned, about four months ago that I actually have it pretty significantly, and it answered many questions for us as to why sometimes I would just be happy and having a great time and then the next minute, so upset that the music was on in the truck, that I had no clue what was going on in my body but I was angry! It was after listening to a bunch of trigger noises that we discovered I had misophonia as well, when I couldn’t function for the next 24 hours. This was notice very early for my daughter but for myself I had not noticed it until 7 years ago and it got progressively worse. All of the training sessions and resources that are offered through so quiet. The cards, training segments and posters are helping inform our area of the country. So Quite have been wonderful and very informative in getting a better understanding of what this really is and the impact it has had on my daughter and my life. Thank you for all that you do!

i felt alone with my misophonia my entire life until i came across soquiet. not only are their resources great sources of hope for us (research, clinical trials, language for communicating the condition to others) i have felt incredibly supported and heard by Cris and those in our support group

soQuiet 11/01/2023
We totally understand. Glad to hear that you feel less alone. Thank you for sharing your story!
soQuiet stands alone in its advocacy and awareness-raising for misophonia. Individuals with misophonia typically suffer alone, and soQuiet gives them a unique opportunity to have a community for support and help. soQuiet also connects people with misophonia toopportunities to participate in clinical research, allowing those who struggle to contribute to the search for empirically validated treatments.

What a great resource and community connection for those of us who have Misophonia, as well as for our friends and family. I've learned so much from the soQuiet organization

Thank you!
I am so grateful for this organization, which is run so very well by Cris Edwards. As a parent of an adolescent experiencing misophonia, I was relieved to find helpful resources and support here. Likewise, I know my child will benefit from SoQuiet.org once she feels ready to connect with resources. I feel more confident advocating for my child having this organization there to support those with misophonia and those who love them.

We are grateful for your kind words! Thanks!
As a former board member and executive director of a nonprofit, as well as the parent of a young adult with misophonia, I can affirm that SoQuiet is an exemplary and highly ethical organization, from top to bottom, through and through. I've been involved with SoQuiet as a volunteer, most notably in participating and co-guiding in the first-ever support groups for parents of children/adults with misophonia. At every step, SoQuiet methodically and carefully developed this program, providing ample and caring training for volunteers, and robust support for the group once it got going. Here, SoQuiet saw an unmet need and began developing services to meet that need, all thoughtfully within the parameters of their larger goals/plans. It has been a privilege and humbling to be involved with this process. SoQuiet is a model of integrity and dedication and care for its community. The misophonia community benefits so, so much from SoQuiet's founder Cris Edwards' vision and leadership

I have received nothing but help, honesty, and hope from spQuiet.org. Cris Edwards and the rest of the fabulous team provide invaluable information and assistance in the areas of research, peer support, individual help, and more with boundless compassion and astute understanding. I have often felt hopeless, but I no longer feel isolated. They give me hope.
Many, many, many thanks to soQuiet! Thank you for sending me your lovely description-cards around the world to me to little Austria **happy** Thank you for showing me, that i am not alone with my strange way of hearing some noises (smacking, ...) and my strange reaction in my mind and in my body. It feels so good, that these reactions have a name "Misophonie" ....and i am not alone... there are many other people around the world with this feelings and reactions (I love my mum.... but since many years we never eat together...except there is loud music around) Thank you, you do very good work!! Many sunny greetings from little Vienna! yours Johanna with her very rusty english ... sorry for any mistäääkes ;-)

Thank you so much, Johanna! We are delighted that the misophonia cards were helpful!
SoQuiet works to uplift the misophonia community in so many diverse and incredible ways, from supporting research to providing free but very important resources like info cards and support groups. The impact that the organization's work has on both individual lives and the greater community as a whole is genuinely unparalleled. I view this nonprofit as doing crucial work for the misophonia community. The amazing people behind this nonprofit are very dedicated and it is such a welcoming community to volunteer with.

So quiet is an incredible organization for Misophonia advocacy. Cris is terrific and they are raising money for much needed research. They have provided incredibly helpful and useful information to the Misophonia community. Highly recommend donating to this organization.

Thanks so much for your review and for your gracious support of misophonia research! :)
I love that this exists. I love that I can now put a name and gain better understanding to what is going on with my hearing. So many people said I was just being overly sensitive. Thank you for bringing awareness!

Thank you so much for your review!
I found soQuiet when I was trying to research misophonia because I didn't know why I had such harsh reactions to normal sounds. The team there is so helpful and has always answered any questions that I have had in a timely and thoughtful manner. The organization is informative and serves as a welcoming place for those like me who struggle with misophonia.

soQuiet 10/30/2022
Thank you for the review! We are glad that we are able to help.
Such a pleasure to be a volunteer for this organization. Genuinely friendly, caring, and benevolent founders who are genuinely interested in helping create a safer, more robust, and prominent place for people with Misophonia to advocate for and represent themselves. So thankful this organization exists and allows people with the same condition as me to have a conversation about the experiences, current and future research, and community for people with Misophonia. So glad to be a part of the team and I cannot wait to see what other great endeavours are in store for soQuiet.

Thank you so much for your help as a volunteer and for your kind review of soQuiet!
My daughter was recently evaluated for misophonia and we've found there to be a dearth of resources, supports, and information on the whole. SoQuiet has been a *wonderful* resource for our family, with tips, tools, provider info and more on their website. Just reading through some of the blog posts has been a validating source of relief for my daughter. Knowing there is a community of folks out there, who have similar struggles and experiences, as well as advice and guidance has alleviated much of our spinning and discombobulation in trying to find services and information to support our daughter.

Thank you so much for the review of soQuiet! We are here to help and greatly appreciate your input on how we can do that better.
I have been volunteering with soQuiet for a few months now, and I am so grateful that such a nonprofit exists. The people in charge are some of the kindest I have ever met, and the work they do is so important. As someone who has misophonia and has felt the hopelessness it causes for years, I finally feel as though something is being done for people with this condition. I'm incredibly proud to be a volunteer at soQuiet, and I'm excited for the future of misophonia advocacy!

soQuiet 10/30/2022
Thanks so much for your review! Your dedication to helping others with misophonia is greatly appreciated!
My 13 year old daughter has misophonia and has been struggling to make school work. With the assistance of SoQuiet she was able to help organize a "Misophonia Awareness" week at school, and is now running a fundraiser for awareness. With the support and help of SoQuiet none of that would have been possible. Long before we contacted them for help with this issue we used the information on their site to help inform ourselves of the best ways to support our daughter. The services they provide the misophonia community are priceless. Thank you!

Thank you so much for your review of soQuiet! It was a delight to work with you all on the school misophonia project! Thank you!
I have been suffering from misophonia for about 30 years, often feeling very alone and having little support. Discovering soQuiet has made me more optimistic about my future with this sensory disorder. It is the best all-in-one resource I've been able to find—connecting me to support groups, providing me with helpful tools, and bridging the gap between researchers and us misophones. I very much appreciate soQuiet's work.

So grateful that soQuiet exists! They've been stellar with supporting and disseminating misophonia research in an extremely inclusive and conscientious way. I'm grateful to have received funding support from their Student Research Grants and had the opportunity to share my findings with the broader community at one of their free Science Sessions. SoQuiet board members are warm and easy to work with too. Keep up the good work!
