Mission: The mission of Sons of Norway is to promote, preserve, and cherish a lasting appreciation of the heritage and culture of Norway
Programs: The mission is to promote the heritage and culture of the norwegian nationality. Fraternal cultural activities - the lodge celebrates its nordic heritage and sponsors activities which promote, preserve and increase appreciation for the norwegian culture. Classes in norwegian language and ethnic food preparations, geneology, and events featuring ethnic foods and culture are offered. The lodge is a sponsor of several community cultural celebration events throughout the year, hosting music, dance and other groups from nordic countries. Continued on schedule o over 6,300 volunteer hours have been provided by more than 40 volunteers for fraternal events, membership and social activities during the year. General membership activities and programs offered by the lodge promote and enhance the norwegian culture and increases appreciation of the heritage. Fitness and fellowship: sons of norway promotes fitness, fellowship and friendships through sports activities. The lodge participates in several organized efforts and many individual fitness efforts. Some members have joined together on a bowling team, and as a group will attend hockey games, arena football and baseball games. Community programs: more than 860 volunteer hours have been provided by the lodge membership who gets involved in the community with the adopt a school program, rest stop and other youth programs. Adopt-a-school: each year at christmas time the lodge adopts families to purchase christmas dinner and gifts for the children. Rest stop: each year the lodge takes a weekend at the sprague rest stop to serve coffee to travelers. Youth programs: the lodge has a youth camp, scholarship programs and cultural education and awareness programs. Scholarships are awarded to children attending district youth camps, and to an individual for an international summer school program to study abroad.
