My son loves Art for Growth. He has truly found his hidden talent through the arts. He never knew he wanted to act, or the confidence to believe he could be an actor. Not only that the director helped my son build confidence and the every day tool he needs to make through life.

I thank The Almighty for introducing me to Songs with Meaning, Inc., (dba Art for Growth). Around thirteen years ago, near the age of 13, I became aware of a talent show being held by the Art for Growth program, Teens Express, one of Art for Growth’s earlier programs for teens out of Prince George’s County. Nervous, but desiring a way to do what I love (sing), I auditioned for the show and made it in! I eventually joined Teens Express, which was great because it allowed me to be a part of a life-enhancing extra-curricular activity that was free to the community. While in Teens Express, I was taught important, applicable, and life-altering values, such as the importance of my thoughts and how they impact the quality of my life, integrity, innovation, and perseverance. Additionally, the program assisted in the development of my social life and gave me artistic training. I was even encouraged to delve deeper into other talents and skills such as songwriting and poetry. Through training and performing, I received self-worth and confidence boosts. Most importantly, my spiritual life was being nurtured through the program. Experiences gained while in Teens Express continue to positively transform my life up to this day. I’ve seen how passionate and dedicated Mrs. MoriEl Randolph (Art for Growth’s Executive Director) is about serving and mentoring youth and adults and helping them to develop not only within the realm of arts, but mentally, spiritually, emotionally, and even financially. She believes in recognizing people on a holistic basis and understands the importance of what we do with our lives and how it impacts the next person. After auditioning for that talent show over a decade ago, I ended up gaining Mrs. Randolph not only as a mentor but a life-long friend.

I look forward to what Art for Growth will achieve through its latest project, Community Flicks, which is to be launched in 2022. Its goal to bring together a Christ-centered Production community to combat the effects of mainstream media on young lives is powerful. I will certainly be a part of it.

I've had the opportunity to be a part of Arts for Growth's programs since 1999; as a youth participant, as a volunteer, and as staff.  The organization has consistently used the performing arts to deliver Christ-centered content that builds the spirit and exceeds expectations.  I've watched the organization produce powerful theatric performances and inspirational music videos with a shoestring budget and a cast of 12 teenagers.  I witnessed the families of elementary school students watch in awe as their children debuted on the big screen at their favorite movie theatre.

I can only imagine the impact that Arts for Growth will have with a cast of professional actors and the financial support that Community Flix will bring.  There's a call for quality family-friendly entertainment to fight the wave of negative influences coming from Hollywood.  Arts for Growth is the organization to answer that call.
