Thank you for the song for Elijah, We listen to it often and remember Eli a little more when we hear the lyrics.
I am sorry that Eli never got to hear it, He loves it I am sure.
He passed the weekend before the song arrived.
It has been 5 years since loosing you Eli, I love and cherish your song even more now. Lil Ricky asks to hear it all the time.
Thank you Songs of Love, what you do for our kids is GREAT.
My daughter received a song when she was in the hospital shortly after receiving a new liver. The song came at the perfect time. It had been a hard day for her (only 4 at the time) and hearing her name and the things she loved to do in a song brought one of the few smiles that day. We listened to it all the time while we were in the hospital and when we returned home 5 weeks later. It still brings a smile (and tears) to my face when it comes up on my ipod. They say laughter is the best medicine, but a personal song written just for your child will do much more.
My daughter loved her song of love from the first words that she heard. In the first 3 days she listened to her song at least 100 times. Not only does she like listening to it she has shared it with all of the important people in her life, including her Dr.'s and nurses.
My son was able to benefit from the Songs Of Love. We got an awesome song that was so fun and we all can dance and sing and just have fun with it! It was written well, and they cared about what he was about! They really did a amazing job!
My daughter was blessed with a song from this wonderfully charitable foundation! She was 13 at the time she received her CD. She is now 18 and still has the CD. She occasionally listens to it and when she does, it still lights up her face. With her condition, music is a saving grace!! I was only hoping there was an option (above) for a 10 star rating!! Thank you John for everything you do!
The volunteer songwriters are caring, responsive and good listeners. My son loves his song! It is a lovely testament to who he is and great for sharing with those who love him.
My son Michael was dying of Liver and Lung Cancer and we submitted a song for him. He was 2 years old at the time we received his song. I love the song and he said that is my name in this song mom. My Mom heard it and was crying. It really touch our family. We were going through so much at that time that we just needed something to lift our spirits. Our story did not have a sad ending, even tho Michael was given less than 5% chance to live, a miracle happen and he survived and still listens to his song today. Thanks Song of Love.
When our son Adrain was 2 1/2 he was diagnosed with leukemia. We spent a grueling year in the hospital and it was a very frightening experience for him- people poking needles into his skin, wearing masks and gloves, waking up with a central line sticking out of his chest, noisy machines, bright lights, painful eye drops every four hours. He wasn't old enough to understand how these scary and painful experiences were going to ultimately save his life. Before a surgery one of the nurses noticed the powerful effect that music had to calm him and she made a referral for Adrain to have his own song written through the Songs of Love Foundation. The songwriter called me to make sure that his information was accurate and the song he wrote fit our little guy's warm, happy personality perfectly. Music heals, it lifts the spirits and brightens dark scary days. To have a song written to speak directly to our son who has gone through so much means more than any words could ever say. Adrain's song really is a Song of Love.
You wrote a WONDERFUL song for my daughter, during a very scary medical crisis in our lives. We are blessed to have her with us and continue to celebrate each day together. Your Song of Love made a world of difference for my then, 2 y/o child. Today she is 8y/o, and she still dances and sings to her song of love when she needs a lift, (with a smile from ear to ear. ) Thanks you SONGS of LOVE. You made our girl VERY HAPPY!
When life surprises your family ending up living in between hospital and clinic, seeing your child suffering for pain getting to many treatments ,surgeries , to many side effects , not able to go, to school don't even knowing if one day he is going to be able. Can you imagine the economic issue .thanks to the many people that give us support, "SONGS OF LOVE FOUNDATION " they are amazing they made a beautiful song for my son for free ,the lyrics described him perfectly ,the music was exactly my sons favorite, they really take care of the details, I can express how music helps to forget about anything ,days were so hard, that you pray for a break for a good night , the song magically distress him, thanks to SONGS OF LOVE he had many good nights that help us to have the strength necessary for the next days, one day at a time starts better whit a good night at a time THANK YOU VERY MUCH SONGS OF LOVE.
This organization is awesome! I filled out a piece of paper about my son and some of his favorite things, and within a few weeks we received a CD with a song composed specifically for him. It is amazing and he loves listening to it! It's not one of those cheesy "insert name here" songs. It was actually composed for him. It's just awesome! Thanks Songs of Love! You rock!
The Songs of Love CD that we received during a very long and difficult hospital stay with our son was such an amazing gift. We are now 7 years past the time when we received our song, and now all of our children happily sing "the Spencer song". Sickness and long term hospital stays are not ever pleasant, but with our gift of this song we have fond memories of the smiles and giggles it has brought through all these years! Songs of Love is an amazing gift for anyone who is fortunate enough to receive one!
Our son Jacob was born with many medical problems and a short life expectancy. He beat the odds and although he has had many trials, he has lived a beautiful life. Five years ago he faced more complications and we were told he had only weeks to live. A friend told us about Songs of Love and we contacted them and shared Jacob's story. They put a rush on our request for a song and within a couple of weeks received a beautiful song about Jacob and the joy he brings our family. Every time we listen to the song, we are overwhelmed. Music is heart healing. We expected this song to help us as we grieved but because of Jacobs fighting spirit, he is still with us five years later. His song is a celebration to us, reminding us about what really matters and that we are still here together. Someday we know that his song will also help to heal our hearts when we are missing him. We have encouraged other families facing similar circumstances to contact Songs of Love and each of them have been so blessed too.
When I had my son who was born with a malformation in the brain I felt so sad, thinking he would never be able to play or grow normal,,one of the most beautiful things he likes is music, when he had his second head surgery at the, hospital imet Songs of Love they put al the love to this song made specialy for my baby all his first year of life in one song,, this changed my life my son loves to listen to his song over n over,, tears of joy fall from my eyes to see him so happy... Thank Songs of Love you are so special to my son.....
We are so grateful to Songs of Love. They made an amazing song for
our daughter! They created the song which she LOVED! Our daughter
has a life threatening disease and has been through so much pain and
suffering. Songs of Love made her smile by creating a song all about her
they brought hope and happiness to our family!
My son has a heart condition & we were told he wouldn't survive, so we were trying to come up with things that would always remind us of him. Songs of love helped with that goal. They made the best song, ever. I cried the first time I heard the song, & it still brings tears to my eyes today. They nailed every part of my sons life in this wonderful song. I could never thank them enough for the hard work & love they put into this.
My daughter was part of Make a wish and we were given the opportunity to receive a song from the Songs of Love Foundation. We sent in a short form about things my daughter likes to do, family members, Pets ect. We mailed it in and received her song a short time later. I let her open the envelope and play the song herself and her face expression while listening to it was priceless! She knew the song was made about her and really brightened her day. We are so grateful that someone spent the time writing and composing a song for us. We love it very much. Now we get to listen to it in the car everywhere we go..... on repeat.... . No matter the distance. But looking at her smiling, dancing and singing in the rear view makes it worth it. :)
We found out about Songs of Love through the children's hospital after our daughter's cancer diagnosis. We had fun filling out the simple form listing information about her, but didn't realize how meaningful and touching the song written for our daughter would be. Members of the organization even called to make sure they pronounced our daughter's friends' names correctly when they recorded the song. Songs of Love got everything right and we were crying tears of joy when we first heard the catchy song they wrote for our daughter. We listen to it at least once a day and have added it to our favorite songs playlist.
Songs of Love is a great foundation and very easy to work with. The form we had to fill out was simple, the songwriter even called us to make sure he had all of my daughters information correct before he wrote the song. My daughter absolutely loves her song and likes to sing and dance along to it. We have had it for 4 years now and it is still one of her favorite songs. Great organization!
Songs of Love Foundation made my baby son happy every time he would listen to his song. It was sure to cheer him up even when he was really sick. I would listen to it with him and the whole family lived to sing Daniel's song.
This is such an extra special way for a child to feel loved. When my daughter, who has many special needs, heard her song for the first time her eyes lit up. Even though she can't speak, her smile spoke volumes. We got her cd almost 5 years and we still listen to it regularly.
As someone who has worked/volunteered for this charity for several years I wanted to share just how impactful their work is on the lives of the kids they help. Songs of Love has helped over 24,000 kids nationwide by giving them their very own song. I initially did not think much of it until I saw first hand how happy and excited the children get when listening to a song that is all about them. Children who are going through treatments and procedures that most adults could not endure are smiling because their song focus' on only the good and happy times of their lives. I love hearing music and can only imagine a song that is in the style that the child likes and lyrics all about them and how they can feel the "music therapy" doing its job. Songs of Love is doing a great one of a kind service and I just hope the music never stops.
Truly an inspiration for us when our son, age 4 was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma. The song they created still brings a smile to my face even when what we were experiencing was so incredibly difficult. The song captured everything about Austin's life at the time. The quality was professional and the song is engaging. I used this song as the background music for his "story". . . . . .http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k7YgDF5Cqhk.
this is the greatest organization ever. Songs of love brings hope and joy to our kids with special needs. Both of my kids have special needs, and having a song specially created for them has being the best gift they can get. Not only they dance and feel special, but they know they are appreciated and loved, just the way they are. Songs of love puts those feeling in words and music for them and every child they serve.
I have a 3 year old who is undergoing treatment for stage 4 cancer and requested a song for him. He was so excited when it came in the mail and even more excited when he heard it. We have listened to it over and over again. He loves hearing his name in the song and all the things about him in it. It was very personal and unique!
Songs of Love exceeded my expectations! I am thrilled with the professional quality of the song they created for my son! We LOVE the song - it truly captures my son! We couldn't be happier and have recommended them to several other parents of special need children.
I have a 3year old daughter with cerebral palsy and epilepsy. I also have a 2yr old with Appraxia ...this wonderful organization wrote each of my girls a personal song recorded it to a CD and sent it to them free of cost. It really is a great pick me up when one of them when their having a bad day and also wonderful for them to do theor therpapy sessions to... I have never seen my girls dance so much and smile :) my 3 year old even will finish the refrain ..shes our and she will respond LITTLE ROCKSTAR!! these people are true angels
I have a daughter with a very rare and terminal genetic disorder. We learned of Songs of Love through a brochure at the St. Jude clinic and my daughter was honored to have a song written for her. She treasures the song written and performed for her by Carl Alloca, and loves that it mentions her best friend and even the name of our cat. It made her feel incredibly special and it's a memory that we'll have of her to treasure forever. We're so grateful to Songs of Love for the special magic they perform through the power of music.
Our 4 year old son has a chronic health condition, and through the Children's Hopsital at Montefiore in the Bronx, we were connected with Songs of Love. Songs of Love went the extra mile, going back to the hospital to get the original copy of our information form when some of the information didn't come through clearly on their copy. They delivered such a special surprise for our son--he loves music more than anything, and the fact that he has a song written just for him was so amazing to him. He learned the words immediately, requests it all the time, and a tear comes to our eyes every time. We can't thank songs of love enough!
I was introduced to Songs of Love by my good friend and songwriter, David (not Lee) Roth. David is one of many songwriters from every genre that donates his time a talent to write personal songs for children who are ill, some who are terminal. Personal information is collected from parent/guardians about the child and that is forwarded to the songwriter to use to write the lyrics. Songwriters are often chosen because they have expertise in a specific music genre that the child favors. The songwriters do amazing magic to write, arrange, orchestrate and record the song in a very short period of time. Some of the recipients only have a short time. The song is then delivered to the child. The reactions are always heart expanding. I have seen video (available on YouTube) of the first time a child hears his or her song and I swear they get bigger and glow as they listen. I have also had the honor and privilege to participate in a workshop that David Roth facilitates where a group of people get together and collaborate to write a Song of Love. David takes the product of the workshop home and produces it.
I cannot encourage people enough to donate to this fine organization and the work it does. Music has been proven scientifically to heal the body, mind and spirit and who is more worthy of that healing than the dependent among us.
I met one of the musicians who played on the songs for sick children in when I was at the cable tv store in mid-town Manhattan. My son Ian was diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma at 17 and was being treated at the time so the charity resonated with me. Knowing first hand what children go through when they are really sick and how Songs for Love had the potential to put a smile back on their faces, I just had to donate. The reason why John Beltzer set up the organization is also extremely moving. it still is one of my favorite charities.
We first learned about the Songs of Love foundation thru the Montifiore childrens Hospital in the Bronx, NY. Our daughter Britney had a kidney biopsy and the results revealed she has kidney desease. Her bone marrow had shut down and the situation became critical for us. That has got to be the darkest time in our lifes. Our little girl 12 years old was so swallen from meds our family and friends didn't even recognized her. By the grace of God thru a miracle our daughter recovered. The songs of love foundation wrote her a song. Still weak she would always smile when she heard her song playing. Now in remission and 13 years old she is raising money to introduce the songs of love foundation to the sick children in Puerto Rico where we now live. She needs to raise about $5,000.00. So far she has raised a little over $1000.00. I asked her why is this so important to her and she said she wants other sick children to experience something happy at a time when they are so afraid of the unknown like she was. The song made her smile alot and returned her self esteem. I am so grateful to them for the ray of light they brought us at such a dark time that I became a music messenger for them. The SONG of LOVE makes so manny sad hearts smile including the family and friends of the sick child. we as a family are grateful to them and we could only wish they really knew the impact they have on so many lifes.
I have worked with songs of love for about 5 years now and have seen it grow to help more families. Songs of Love has some of the most compassionate hard working people I know. I have recieved many letters and pictures from the children I have written songs for over the years. When I get the letter and read there words it makes me feel like I am actually a part of helping others. The letters and pictures really let you know how much Songs Of Love means to the family. It is a priviledge to work with such a wonderful organization.
Children in my hospital in Japan enjoyed the whole process with Songs of Love, filling in the application in English, thinking about what kind of songs they like, getting a stamp for an international mail, and receiving a CD from oversea! They were so excited to have their own songs in Japanese from another country. It was great to see their smiles with Songs of Love!
My son Robert was diagnosed with Lymphoma on 4-20-2007 at age 13. We were immediately cast into a life of big hospitals, driving in the city (daily or weekly), blood work, chemotherapy, & long hospital stays. Just alot of unknown, scary stuff. Now it is almost three years later & Robert is doing well. All of those things are not what we remember. We remember the love & kindness we received thru it all. The Songs of Love Foundation gave Robert such a wonderful gift. He received a song about him that brought smiles and happiness to all that love him. The Songs of Love Foundation is a true symbol of goodness, giving & real love!
Our adopted daughter Evonne has limitations on her body imposed by cerebral palsy and several medical conditions. But nothing has been able to hold her incredible joyful spirit down! Her Song of Love captured that spirit, chronicled all that is important to her and her greatest loves in life. To see her laugh and try to sing along to her special song - her story really - well there is no way to put a price on that. There just isn't.
My Grandson, Zak is 6 and was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at 9 months old. We put his song into a slide show of family pics. He loves the song and I love Songs of Love. It brightens the life of these precious gifts from God. Zak cannot run and play, but he can play video games and is learning tread. I did send a copy of his movie to Songs of Love. I hope they share it with you all. Thank you Melanie for sharing this wonderful org. with me. God Bless All!
My son Shane was diagnosed with a PNET brain tumor, at age 7, in Feb 2006. We spent alot of time in and out of the hospital. In the fall of 2006, Shane received his Songs of Love CD. The smile on his face when he listened to his song is absolutely unforgettable! He loved that CD so very much! He took it to school and all his classmates loved it too. After listening to it a few times, the teacher finally said it was time to get back to schoolwork. But she said that all day the kids kept singing Shane's song. Shane lost his battle in April 2007 after 14 months of bravely fighting his cancer. If every child is as happy as my Shane was when listening to his song, then I hope this charity NEVER ends! I know I will support it the best I can. I still listen to Shane's CD, since it always reminds me of the way he would sing and dance to his song...

Songs of Love is a unique and valuable service providing the medicine of music for children, their families and communities. The organization's staff amazes me with their commitment to provide this free for these challenged kids and i am honored to be involved. The other testimonies posted here describe better than I could what it's worth to the families and why any support you can provide to Songs of Love is well worthwhile.
Our son Jordan is a severe asthmatic, after a lenghty ICU admission, he was given a series of tests to help identify any additional illnesses. In 2007, at age 12 he was diagnoised with atypical cystic fibrosis, and typically is hospitalized 3-4 times a year, usually from 9 to 14 days. Songs of Love produced a cd for him and it included all of his friends and family. Jordan was very happy to receive it, and it made me cry to know how special this organization could be. I'm truly impressed with the service they provide.
Using songs to aide in the healing and comforting of children this organization is an organization that I have grown to love. Each song is unique and the happiness it brings a sick children is immeasurable. We continue to listen to Felicia's song everyday, take a minute and watch along to a video my friend made for us. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZ6iWMPSVx0 This songs really made Felicia feel special during all her long hospital visit. Thank you Songs of Love. And if you know an organization that would like to donate or make a song for a child, Songs of Love will let you participate. What an amazing feeling that would be, knowing that you brought a smile to sick child's face and helped heal their soul
I'll never forget the look of sheer joy on my daughter Mya's face when she heard her 'song of love" for the first time. She shared it immediately with all her friends. Mya received her song while battling Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma at 5 years old. Since that time, she was diagnosed with secondary Acute Myloid Leukemia (at 7 years old) and received a Stem Cell Transplant. I relish her CD and even order the ring tone for my cell phone. She is doing very well now, but it hasn't stopped us from listening to her song over and over again....Much Love to this entire organization. You truly have made a positive and lasting effect on my daughter and our whole family. Her story: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/myaterry
My three year old was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in 2006, a mere 4 short weeks from when I nearly died giving birth to Our third child. We were in a tailspin and Songs of Love, was our line to happiness. They went above and beyond our expectations in writing a song for Nate. He loves his song so much, that at his end of chemo party, it was played. It brought back so many memories, good and bad, that We had been through. Thank you so much for taking the time to care so much about my child. It really shows in the work that is put into each and every song.
My beautiful daughter, Grace, was diagnosed with kidney cancer at 4 1/2. Treatment was so much to ask of a little girl. While many, many things were hard, one of the hardest for my daughter was losing her long blond hair. She lost some of her self-esteem as children would ask her if she was a girl or a boy. She grew up too fast and suffered through things most adults never think about. Her sweet Song of Love captured her childlike wishes and her dreams and set them to music. It's a beautiful testiment to her spirit. The most amazing thing is that it was created by people that don't actually know her. Yet, it was absolutely spot on. Grace laughed and danced to her song as she listened to it over and over again. This awesome organization has a beautiful heart to bring such joy to children who suffer. Grace is 8 now and doing really well. We will have her Song of Love to always remind us of all the things we have to be thankful for.
My daughter Caitlin was 5 years old when she was diagnosed with cancer. Her life went from getting used to the adjustment of starting kindergarten to having to have surgeries and stay at a hospital for weeks at a time. Most of the time she could not have guests because her immune system was down so low. She felt terrible most of the time. When she received her CD from Songs of Love she thought it was pretty cool that her name was on the outside, but then when she listened to it her eyes lit right up. She just kept saying "mom, this song is about me! How did they do this?" She laughed and smiled, and I cried with joy. It was so great to see her smiling like that again. Caitlin has listened to that CD so many times I am surprised it still works. The people at Songs of Love are truly amazing and have definitely touched the life of our family and I know many, many other children out there who need the light brought back into their eyes. Thank you so much for all you do!!
My daughter is three years old. She has a very rare vascular anomaly Multifocal Lymphangioendotheliomatosis with Thrombocytopenia (MLT) that causes massive hemorrhaging in her GI tract. She has been in the hospital well over a year of her life. We are currently still in and out of the hospital all the time. We received her song in June 2009. The first time she heard it, she was looking around the hospital room like “who just said my name”. She was laughing and dancing hearing a song all about her and the things she loves. She dances & tries to sing her song, so precious. If only I could express enough the joy in our heart that her song gives us! We listen to her song all the time. Kerry Clark did an amazing job capturing her personality. Songs of Love is an amazing organization.
Imagine you are a child with cancer and all of your main joys have been taken away. Meaning school and outings could not be done while on heavy chemo. Your an outgoing 8 year old girl who loves to socialize and keep busy. Now busy is taking chemotherapy drugs on your clinic visits that are sometimes four days a week. We are talking about my little girl here. Now imagine getting a CD that is about you and your favorite things. It means people out there are thinking about you and they do not even know you. "It makes me feel like a movie star." This is what Kayla said when she got her Songs of Love Song.
Our 4-year old daughter has an autism spectrum disorder. She enjoys music very much, so we requested a "Song of Love" for her. It was so heartwarming to see her reaction when she heard her name in her song for the first time. The musician who created our daughter's song did a beautiful job and really captured her personality in the lyrics she wrote. Our daughter loves music, anyway, but it is all the more special to have a song that mentions her name throughout it along with her favorite things. Every time we play it, we get an instant smile from our daughter - she definitely knows this is her song! Although she isn't able to sing and only has a vocabulary of a few words, she gets very excited listening to her song and often dances to it. What a special gift from the Songs of Love organization that creates such joy in the life of a child who has a severe disability!
My daughter, Fiona, was born with a rare blood disorder that left her severely disabled. She was diagnosed as "terminal". So far she has beat the odds. I requested a "song" from "Songs of Love". When we received the song, we couldn't believe it. The song was all about Fiona and her family. It was like listening to an "Irish Lullaby". We will cherish this song forever.
Our daughter was diagnosed with ALL (leukemia) when she was 2 1/2. It came as a great surprise and our lives were quickly filled with doctor appointments and hospital stays. Her Song of Love was so uplifting - she would just dance and wanted everyone to hear this song made especially for her. I did not expect it to be anywhere near the quality that it was. Our daughter is now 5, done with treatment and doing fantastic. Thank you Songs of Love!
My daughter was diagnosed with Wilms Tumor- a form of Childhood Cancer. She was 4 years old at the time. Our whole world changed. She no longer had a 'normal childhood'. She was now subected to surgeries, hospital stays, chemo, constant pokes, hair loss.... She recieved many cards and gifts to lift her spirits. One of the most special gifts she received was a Song of Love. Her song was custom made to include all of the things she always found precious in her life. Every time we listened to her song, she had a huge smile on her face. It truely brought her joy- and it brought me joy just to see her so happy in the midst of all of the sickness and chaos. Today, my daughter is 5 years old. She has successfully completed her treatments and is back to her 'normal' life. We still fondly listen to her song over and over. She still gets a huge smile when she sings along to her personalized song. I can never say 'thank you' enough to Songs of Love for the wonderful gift that they gave my daughter.
I have been writing songs for Songs of Love for about 4 years and I am so thrilled at this opportunity. Songs Of Love is an incredible organization and I have built some precious relationships with families as a result of writing for their children.
I have been writing personal songs for children with the Songs of Love Foundation since 1998. So far I am up to 68 songs and counting. I can tell you that it would be far more if I did it full time. If ever there was an organization that truly thought of the children it represented with good will and intentions it's this non profit organization. Everyone I've known who worked with Songs of Love has always put in an ernest efffort to make sure that the emotional & theraputic needs of children and their families were met. Consider the healing power of music and you will understand what that means... Songwriter/Artist : Irving Louis Lattin
My daughter received a liver trasplant in January of 2008 when she was 4 1/2 years old. It was a really tough time in the hospital as there were several set backs, but the personal song that this foundation provided her always made her smile. We sent it on to family back home and it was a big pick-me-up for everyone, including our two boys at home (ages 2 and 7). This foundation has come up with a unique way to lift the spirits of every child it has the opportunity to serve. My wish would be for every child to be able to receive their own song when they are in a similiar situation as my daughter.
As a longtime supporter of Songs of Love, I have seen numerous examples of their work in action. John Belzer has built an incredible organization based on his personal vision that has enriched the young lives it has touched.
My daughter, Haley was 3 years old when she was diagnosed with a Wilm's tumor. As you can imagine, we were devistated that this vibrant, beautiful, "perfect" child had cancer! While we were in the hospital absorbing all of the traumatizing details of what my daughter would be facing over the next several months, a social worker approached us about a foundation that writes individual songs about individual children battling medical conditions. We jumped on that opportunity - it gave us something to look forward to and allowed us to reflect on what was important in Haley's life! We played that CD over and over again for Haley and for anyone that would listen! It brought great joy for the entire family and is something that Haley can treasure for the rest of her life!
My daughter was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in 2005. Songs of Love provided a lovely song about her and her our family. It arrived in the mail the morning that we departed for New York for a very scary surgery. I listened to it the first time while in the waiting room and it was very touching and theraputic. She feels so special when she listens to it and it is still played very frequently now, over 3 years later by a very healthy little girl!
My daughter, Lauren, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma on January 23, 2009. She was a senior in high school and then the world seemed to come to a complete halt. She was in and out of the hospital every 23 days for chemotherapy and scans for 6 months and then had 6 weeks of radiation therapy. She had some pretty low moments and there was a while that she could not make her self smile because of the unknown. Then she received her song from songs of love, it made her smile and dance and sing for the first time in a long time. What they do is amazing and is so very important, the children who are facing the fight of their lives need something to brighten their otherwise gloomy days and that is what songs of love does. It takes a child who is scared, sick, tired, and unsure about their future and gives them a reason to smile, which is so important. Thank you songs of love, you will always be in our family's thoughts.
We adopted a multi-special needs child 8 years agao. We heard about the songs of love foundation from a friend at our church. We were and still are going thru some rough medical issues. She is under the palliative care unit at Childrens. She loves books and music. As soon as she heard her name she started to smile. She does not walk or talk. We do everything for her. This song had her smiling the entire time. Her three brothers that are my bioligical children were dancing around and singing the songs with her. They were telling everyone about this song. This brought joy to our house. We still play it several times a day. I want to say a very big thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!
We were like most people and had only heard of this organization once or twice, but then faced with the diagnoses of Leukemia for our 2 yr. old son we became involved with them. The way they make each song so personal.. it is amazing. It was uplifting not only to our sick child but to the whole family. His sister and brothers loved playing the song around the house and Daniel would tell everyone about "his song." In the face of the unknown it definitely lifted our spirits, and we are forever greatful for songs of love. May the have many blessings...
The Song they created for my daughter,Karlee, came at a perfect time, during one of her longer hospital stays. We had the entire hospital staff singing along. To this day, our whole family enjoys this song we all know by heart:) It was one of the best gifts she has ever gotten & I know she will treasure it forever!!! Thanks Songs of Love!! The Hughes Family
The song created for my son Alexander by Songs of Love was amazing in its message, musical beauty and impact. It incorporated all the things he loved and still loves today (dipping his bread in olive oil, jumping around, snuggling and Finding Nemo). To this day, it remains our 3-yr old's favorite song, as well as ours. Keep on rocking, SOL! Mark Bandrauk
