Somerville Homeless Coalition offers a comprehensive suite of programs to assist vulnerable families, stabilize precarious housing situations, and prevent hunger and homelessness, as well as provide housing for those who have fallen off the cliff. Their fundraising is effective and respectful (centered mainly on road races and private galas, rather than wasteful junkmail and phone calls) and their clients are treated with the utmost respect. As a Somerville resident, I think they embody the best of my city's talents and aspirations.
