Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Children & Youth, Civil Rights, Community Coalitions, Employment Preparation & Procurement, Intergroup & Race Relations, Job Training, Race, Youth Development Programs

Mission: The Coalition's bylaws state, as some of its general goals: (1) to mobilize and utilize community resources with the aim of enlarging opportunities for Haitians in the fields of education, employment, housing, health and improved neighborhood life, thereby reducing or eliminating social conditions which perpetuate racism, discrimination, and poverty; and (2) to develop leadership skills among Haitians in Somerville. The Coalition also assists immigrants in becoming U.S. citizens.
