An OUTSTANDING weekend at Camp Solgohachia! The facilities were perfect for our Father/Son weekend. And the service was beyond top-notch.

I've volunteered with Camp Solgohachia for a number of years now. I've absolutely loved how laser-focused they are on loving kids well, treating them with respect, and encouraging them in their walk with God - so much so, that I moved in-state so I could continue to serve.
Being on the "operational" side of things, I can say that they make do with very little to accomplish a lot! If you donate an item, you'll probably see it directly being used during camp. Financial gifts are used very frugally and have a big impact here. Staff pay is pretty low so you know donations aren't just being funneled into some executive's bonus. Everyone who works there believes in the mission and most would probably tell you they feel called to be serving there.
A big focus amongst the staff is cultivating a culture of honor, humility, faithfulness in little things, and devotion to Jesus. The young adults working as summer counselors embody these values really well and you'll find some of your camper's favorite memories from camp will be the conversations and friendships they've formed with the counselors. I've often overheard campers talking to each other about other camps - their favorite about this one is most often the counselors!
Ozark Conference Center & Camp Solgahacia have played a recurring backdrop for my life:
The summer between my Jr & Sr years, I attended a college prep course / camp hosted at OCC.
While on a young adult ministry weekend retreat, OCC hosted my first engrossing conversation and subsequent jam session with the lovely lady who would become my wife two years later.
At an ecumenical, pastor’s prayer retreat, several caring pastors prayed that the Lord would open the womb of my wife, just days after we had been declared clinically infertile.
Last summer, my wife and I had the great opportunity to bring our three kids up to the family camp long weekend at Camp S, with a handful of other families from who we gleaned wisdom and encouragement.
And most recently, I witnessed the inaugural worship session led by our wonderful, all youth-led, youth-min, worship team from our church.
God has poured blessings into my life on the beautiful mountaintop Conference center in Solgahacia, Arkansas. This place is sacred to me.
I've been to OCC several times over the years, and I LOVE this camp! The location is perfect...on top of a mountain, rolling hills, quiet and scenic. Lots of options for youth groups as well. I personally love the Villas. I have used them over the years for ministry planning retreats and I always feel like I'm in the zone whenever I'm there. Love OCC!
Sure Solgohachia has beautiful mountain sunsets, good food, fun activities, and clean, comfortable accomodations, but what sets it apart are the relationships made between counselors and campers, the primary focus being put on encountering God and the tools taught to your camper that will send them home equipped to follow God daily. How's that for a run-on sentence?
I wish I could go beyond 5 stars! What God is doing at Camp Solgohachia cannot truly be described with words. Our kids, summer after summer, come back on fire for Jesus and God's Word.
My boys look forward to their week at camp all year! They love it so much! The counselors are the most incredible young people I have ever met. The director, John, is passionate about serving others and loving God. Not to mention the summer camp is a great value!
The Ozark Conference Center staff truly fulfills their mission of creating a great environment for retreats and events. They combine a beautiful setting with friendly and flexible staff that seem to always anticipate our needs.
