Mission: Founded in 2014, SVP is a 501(c)(3) non profit organization dedicated to reversing the negative impacts of climate change and ending energy poverty in the developing world. Our mission is to provide clean, renewable and reliable energy for all people, beginning with those who can least afford it. We provide: Solar arrays for rural schools and clinics that are off grid or don’t have reliable access to electricity. Microfinance loans for rural homes and businesses that are off grid or don’t have reliable access to electricity.
Results: We have: Powered 15 rural health clinics that serve a total population of over 200,000 people. The clinics we work with typically lose grid power for 12 hours per day or more on average. Powered 10 rural schools for marginalized rural communities that had no grid connection or a unreliable grid connections. Provided over 185 rural homes via microfinance with solar arrays ranging in size from 100 watts up to 1 kilowatt.
