Mission: SEPA's mission is to facilitate solutions for the use and integration of solar electric power by utilities, electric service providers, and their customers.
Programs: Education and outreach: seeks to stimulate the increased utility adoption and integration of solar electric technologies, on either side of the meter, by providing a variety of support services and information to utilities throughout the united states. The expected outcomes include: the development of new utility solar programs and the expansion of existing utility solar programs; increased utility and customer owned solar installations; and increased general awareness and understanding of the solar technologies and applications by utility employees. Education on solar technology is done through on-line teaching (webinars), regional workshops, seminars, and educational conferences.
strategy and research: identifies utility industry trends and the specific needs of the utility industry as it relates to policy, technical, business and other solar issues, incorporating trends and utility concerns into programmatic plans that may have an effect on all categories of membership. Leads sepa's efforts to convene groups of diverse stakeholders around complex issues related to utility use and integration of solar energy, and manages relationships and partnerships with peers at key stakeholder groups in the utility space. Performs research and written reports on new solar business models and integration practices. Conducts fact finding missions to help educate power producers on the integration of solar technology to the unitedstates market.
