It's been a tremendous privilege to meet the children, families, and health care providers who have received support from Sofia's Hope. It's because of them and witnessing the impact firsthand that we have remained committed to this phenomenal organization.

This nonprofit organization is absolutely the best in South Florida! I have been to numerous of their events including the annual Wine & Cheese, I’ve run in the 5K run and attended the family zoo events, and it’s all about the children, the families and their siblings. No one is left behind! There is so much thought and care that go into the activities they coordinate for families with children who are going through cancer treatment. Whether it’s zoom activities or live in person. No issue is too big for this organization. They make things happen for their families in need no matter what. I highly recommend this foundation. Donate with confidence as your money will be well spent through this non-profit!
I have been a Board member for Sofia's Hope since it's inception. My daughter was a friend of Sofia's at school and Marta Blanco the President is one of my closest friends. I have seen all of the tireless work, time and love that Marta has put into growing Sofia's Hope over these past 10 years. It's rare these days to find a person who wants to really help others, with no strings attached, purely because they have been in the shoes of those who they are seeking to help and knows the hardships and suffering they are going through. Sofia Hope has helped hundreds of children and their families navigate the treacherous seas of a cancer diagnosis. Helped not only in "everyday" ways such as art classes, camps and gift cards but with funding research to reach long term successes in helping children survive a cancer diagnosis. If you are looking for a worthy cause to volunteer for or fund or to refer a family to who is going through a cancer diagnosis, this is the entity to go to.

I am the Treasurer of Sofia's Hope. I gladly volunteer my time and expertise to this organization because the President, Marta Blanco, is passionate about helping children and their families living with cancer. SH not only raises funds for research but also helps put a smile on these children's faces by offering programs that help them forget for a few minutes what they are dealing with. If you want to donate to a charily that is true to their mission and fights everyday for it, then Sofia's Hope is the charity to donate to.
When I was 17 and a newly diagnosed childhood cancer patient, the Sofia's Hope box was one of the first things I received while starting treatment. The box included the essentials that a childhood cancer patient and their family would need to begin their journey through the tough times. About two years later, I applied for the Sofia Blanco scholarship and was gratefully selected. I am incredibly thankful to Sofia's Hope for awarding me the Sofia Blanco scholarship during my freshman year of college. Their investment in my future has truly changed my life, I am honored to have been part of Sofia's Hope over the years and to watch them give back to the community in any way they can. Thank you, Sofia's Hope, for making my dreams possible. I would not have graduated from nursing school without your endless support. Your dedication to spreading awareness and improving the lives of childhood cancer patients is amazing and always leaves a lasting impact.
Having been involved with Sofia’s Hope for the last five years, I have seen the direct impact that the organization has made to the children and their families through the many programs it sponsors. The programs provide comfort, empowerment and a sense of community for the families facing their battles with cancer. Equally, if not more importantly, the organization impacts todays and future patient as well as the medical community in a broader sense with the focus on research and dissemination of information specifically in the area of cardio-oncology. This work will make profound changes in treatment protocols for childhood cancer. Quite simply, the organization is a beacon of hope for so, so many.

As an oncology child life specialist words will never be able to describe how grateful I am for Sofia's Hope. All of the programs, activities and donations that they are able to provide make such a huge impact on our floor. Marta and Jennifer are always willing and ready to help with anything I ask for whether it be something as small as a gift card or a ticket to an event for a family that just received a cancer diagnosis. Their new diagnosis boxes change the entire mood of the room whenever I give them to new families and the zoo kits make such a difference in coping for our patients. It is an absolute honor to be able to work with them on a daily basis. They are truly such an amazing organization and deserve nothing less than 5 stars.
I am beyond impressed with how much Sofia’s Hope does for children with Cancer as well as their entire families. Their funding , impact and involvement with research for treatments and a cure are phenomenal.
Sofia's Hope is an outstanding organization that supports children and families as they navigate the difficult cancer journey. This incredible support begins with diagnosis and continues throughout a child's treatment.
In 2019, I was hired as the Licensed Art Therapist for the Healing Arts program, a division of Sofia's Hope. I have been deeply impressed by the level of care and commitment Marta Blanco and her team show each patient, each sibling and each parent. Even during the pandemic, Sofias' Hope was able to reach families through Virtual Art Therapy, Virtual Summer Camps and Virtual Zoo visits. I have seen first hand the impact that Sofias' Hope has on a child and parents who are deeply grateful for this wonderful cancer care community.
In Art Therapy, we help develop coping skills and provide therapeutic activities that help children and adolescents ages 4 - 21. Due to the pandemic, we shipped special art projects designed for virtual sessions to over 100 children. One Mom wrote, "Thank you for all you have done for our family. We are blessed to have your help and Sofia's Hope in our lives". Another Mom wrote of her four year old son "Today I had to go to the doctor. My son told me to be brave, like he was. She asked him how he learned that and he said through Art Therapy". One teenage boy hung up every art therapy project in his room and created his own art gallery. His Mom said he was very proud of each project and it truly helped him express his feelings during his surgery and long recovery.

It's an honor to be a part of Sofia's Hope. An amazing organization that not only works behind the scenes to fund ground breaking research related to pediatric cancer treatments and their effects but also works closely with cancer patients and their families to make dealing with their diagnosis and life with treatment a little more manageable and fun!
Fantastic Organization, raising awareness for a much needed cause. Childhood cancer needs more champions like Sofia's Hope
Sofia's Hope is the real deal--this organization makes a major impact to childhood cancer patients and families here in South Florida. They focus on the patient experience. They focus on family support. And they focus on the sibling experience including the Gabriela Blanco Sibling Scholarship (the only one of its kind)! Sofia's Hope takes a very thoughtful approach to everything they do, including patient/family programs, educational outreach and funding pediatric cardio-oncology research. One of my all-time favorite organizations!
