Founded in 1931 as the society for the preservation of maryland antiquities, preservation maryland is the state's oldest historic preservation organinization.
Programs: Funding - supports preservation projects and organizations through loans and grants.
education and outreach - works with targeted organizations to assess specific needs and to help address them through technical assistance, workshops, publications, and grants. Also sponsors conferences, lectures, and tours.
advocacy - supports the cause of historic preservation broadly as a participant in annual efforts to ensure appropriate public funding for government preservation programs.
preservation services - the society provides a variety of services to aid those seeking to preserve buildings or antiquities that would be consistent with the society's mission. Properties and collections - the society maintains historical buildings and artifacts to further educate the public about maryland history.
