Mission: Soccer In The Streets focuses its efforts in areas where soccer programs typically do not exist, such as urban and rural areas. Soccer programs which incorporate life skills and mentoring components serve as a deterrent to risky behaviors and help to build character in the participants. Another aim is to build a bridge to mainstream soccer programs which provide further opportunities for competition, education and interaction with children from all walks of life. Families and communities are an integral part of the program and provide the support system in order for the youth to be successful both on and off the soccer field.
Programs: The organization provides soccer programs for inner city youth development. Basic cooperation and teamwork are stressed to assist youth/teen above and beyond soccer.
I live in the West End of Atlanta, Soccer in the Streets just opened up free soccer programs for all youth at our local train station they also gave all the kids free soccer gear and cards to use the train and play other communities! We never had anyone do something like this for our kids, there is a GOD.
