I absolutely love this school. My child had the worst experiences in public schools before moving to SOAR Charter Academy... SOAR has helped her build confidence as well as allowing her to finally feel safe in a school atmosphere.
The field trips via SOAR are unforgettable in the most positive ways. The staff is very communicative .... they make the students and parents feel like one big family.

This school is simply amazing! This school is located in the impoverished city of San Bernardino and provides tuition free education for children from grades K-8th. This school doesn't stop at just educating the child on academics but also on core character traits to build the child up to being a good citizen and to take pride in their local community. What is amazing in itself is the fact all staff members know each student by name not as "4th grader."
I am so proud to say that my Daughter was a student at SOAR for the first 2 years of the Non-Profit. The Teachers, Staff and Volunteers are beyond excellent, they EXCEL. I was pleased to see that they were able to move to a larger facility, more suitable for this type of school. I, to this day (over 5 years later) still wear my SOAR Charter Academy T-Shirt with Pride. THANK YOU

SOAR cares about their students, and spends a lot of time, effort, and care on each one to make sure they have support they might not get at other schools or at home.

Soar Charter Academy is a nonprofit charter school in the heart of San Bernardino, California. Despite the social economically depressed and crime ridden community this school serves as a beacon of light and hope to its many students. The teachers go above and beyond to create a safe haven where students are able to grow and flourish. They are challenged academically by a stimulating curriculum and a wide variety of extra curriculars including sports, technology clubs, music, and theatre. However, one of there most impressive accomplishments is its focus on character development, the students are challenged become independent thinkers and community leaders. Each student and class is involved in community service projects where they are taught the importance of giving back and helping others. The school upholds this responsibility in all its actions, donating extra cafeteria food and lost and found clothing to local homeless shelter, recycling trash, and opening its doors for townhall meetings with local city officials and police to encourage community growth and development.The teachers are nurturing and come to school everyday with an enthusiasm that is infectious. They are constantly researching and applying new ways to engage the students and their parents. They expand their school network by reaching out and engaging with local colleges, businesses, hospitals to help increase resources available to its students. In a community that can sometimes be labeled as broken and forgotten Soar Charter Academy and its students represent a bright future. I am proud and grateful to have my daughter be a part of Soar Charter Academy.
Amazing School! All staff is very caring of all students. Teachers are extremely creative with their curriculums. My child enjoys going to school he feels safe at his school.
My little one has been a member of the SOAR Charter Academy family since 3rd grade. She will graduate this year from 8th and move on to senior high. We are somewhat conflicted. On the one hand, we are happy she is successfully moving on but on the other hand concerned that as she moves out into the wider world she will miss the warm, loving and nurturing environment that has sustained her and given me feelings of satisfaction and confidence.
My child's personal journey has not been without its zigs and zags; but SOAR teaching professionals worked with her, worked with our family and after a rocky start early on, she is now a honor roll student and will most assuredly leave SOAR as one of its top performing students.
Administrative staff is unrelenting in its mission to put the safety and well-being of its scholars first. For our family, there could not have been a better choice.
SOAR while continually developing a rigorous academic experience has continually succeeded in stressing the character and community spirit of its students and parents. I've been to many k-12 schools and I've seen no school that has more parent participation and support than SOAR. Parents come out in droves.
Personally I never feel the need to be concerned with discrimination, bullying, gang activity, violence or drugs. While a part of the overarching society that we live in, SOAR is a tranquil island in an otherwise hectic community where I am always comfortable with my child's personal development.
I would recommend SOAR to any parent(s) seeking a trustworthy environment where their child(ren) can grow. With each year my child has attended SOAR has grown in diversity, inclusivity and professionalism.
I recently retired from a local health and human services non-profit. However, I have taught at the K-12, junior college and university level. I would have no reservations guest teaching on the SOAR campus.
I have 2 children who attend Soar. I have been a Soar parent for 6 years. The teachers are creative in their teaching and engage well with parents. My children have learned so much from their leaders far beyond what is taught from books. All the staff from the castodian to the founders are engaging and mentors to the students. I only wish they could remain here till they graduate from high school.
I have had two daughters at SOAR. One started in 2nd grade the other in 3rd. They are now 8th and 9th. We love SOAR as a part of our family as they have loved us as well. The staff is absolutely amazing and makes you feel welcome. They address issues instantly and parents are always informed of everything. Having to leave SOAR this year is very sad for my family.
