Nonprofit Overview
Mission: SmileHealthy is dedicated to working with the community to meet the oral health needs of under served children and families by focusing on preventive care, treatment and education to a provide a lifetime of excellent oral health.
Results: In 2006 we began to provide care one day a week at our Head Start Clinic in Rantoul and now serve 600 families with 10 clinic days a month. In 2008 SmileHealthy was awarded a grant for Mobile Dental Clinic services to expand our mobile dental program. This led to setting up inside Frances Nelson twice a month for restorative and hygiene clinics. In 2009, we saw an additional 767 children and are on pace to see even more.
Target demographics: -Children under age 18 who live in Champaign County outside the Champaign-Urbana city limits - Head start children - Frances Nelson patients (adults and children)
Programs: Mobile Dental Clinics, Child Dental Access Program, Head Start Dental Clinic, Dental Health Education
