Small hands big hearts united has been such a fabulous organization for my kids and our entire family in offering us a variety of opportunities to help in the community in ways that even the youngest of kids can understand and participate in fully. Individual missions--activities planned to help a group in need or an important cause--are led by the children themselves with parental supervision, which gives the kids the chance to develop leadership & teamwork skills, as well as a better understanding of what it is to be a responsible citizen. We are so grateful to be a part of the small hands big hearts united family, and excited to continue the great work this group has been doing in our own community and beyond!

My children have genuinely enjoyed volunteering through Small Hands Big Hearts United over the past few years. SHBHU offers many ways for kids to serve in the community and their compassion for others has grown as they have volunteered for compassion missions such as serving food to the homeless, community food drives, and knitting hats for newborns in Haiti. Children also enjoy building friendships with fellow volunteers, coming up with "Anytime Activity" compassion missions, and presenting ideas at meetings for ways to serve the community. The leadership is outstanding and stems from a genuine desire to help and encourage children in their natural compassion.

Small Hands has been a great resource for our family. All the activities and volunteer opportunities are super fun and the whole family gets involved. Most all volunteer opportunities have no age restrictions, which is great when you have children of varing ages. Registration is super easy from their website. There is also no obligation to do a minimum amount of hours, everything is at your own convenience. I also love that all members now have to complete a background check to even view their calendar of events, totally putting the safety of the children first! Great organization!!

Small Hands Big Hearts is a great group of people with an awesome mission. Getting the younger generation involved early is something that has been sorely missing in the community. The experience it gives kids will yield great results in the future.

By far the most unique and inspiring non profit I have ever had the opportunity to learn about and benefit directly from . Inspiring children to give from the heart , it's a beautiful thing !!!

I personally saw the bags of groceries in my daughter's garage ready to be delivered to needy families in Cary, N.C.. The bags and groceries were al donated and "small hands" of little students had attached personal messages to the familes and decorated the bags. That experience several years ago plus the stories I've seen and heard about since then bring tears to my eyes as to what can begin small and grow because the founders and supporters care for tohers.

I have three kids in Small Hands Big Hearts United and it has been a thrill watching them grow into socially concerned community organizers. The projects they have worked on have had an impact on kids undergoing hospital care, the hungry in NC, families in Dominican Republic and kids in India. SHBHU is building the leaders of tomorrow - leaders that will not only know what it means to be good to one another, but that will have the skill set to mobilize and do something about the world's challenges.

It is beautiful the way this organization not only provides a way for children to get involved in the community but also forms a team behind a child with a vision to do a good deed! If your child has a heart for doing good or if you want to expose your child to giving back to your community and globally ... then Small Hands Big Hearts is your organization!

Our family has been involved with SHBHU since it's inception and we are extremely proud of the work they do. We have always want to ensure our kids make service a regular part of their lives and SHBHU was the perfect fit! From fund raiser that include car washes, dog washes, food drives and kids leading other kids in service projects close to their heart it has been a fantastic experience. We plan to be members for many years to come. A great organization!

What a cool mission. It's about creating a next generation of givers. Children naturally have a good heart and without these types of opportunities to practice that instinct, it can be suffocated by the other demands of their world.

I am the teen ambassador president and have been with SHBHU since the very beginning. I've fallen in love with this organization, its people, and the people we help. This organization has changed me for the better by making me more understanding and compassionate. This organization has a very special place in my heart and am so excited for the future and the great differences we can make!

SHBHU is a fantastic non-profit. One of the best family experiences we have had this year was volunteering with our 7 and 9 year old at the NC Food Bank. Our children felt they were able to make a significant contribution and we were able to work together as a family to complete a project. We also participated as a family the SHBHU 5K which was very well organized and seemed very successful!

Small Hands Big Hearts is a fantastic organization! I am the mom of 3 kids ages 4, 9, & 10 and there is something for all age groups. Finding places that include young kids to help volunteer is almost non-existent. My girls and I especially like feeding the homeless and just this past weekend help wrap presents that were donated to people less fortunate. I am so happy that we found SHBHU!
