Mission: Recreational opportunities for multiply disabled youth residents of eagle county, colorado
Programs: Through the adaptive ski program at vail resorts small champions coordinates 9 weekend opportunities during the vail ski season for over 35 eligible participants to receive one-on-one ski/snowboard instruction. Participants learn to ski/snowboard and to socialize with other participants
small champions coordinates access for over 20 eligible participants to spend time learning about, caring for, and riding horses through direct contact. Hippotherapy is a proven form of physical and neurological therapy which is greatly beneficial to the participants.
small champions coordinates through the vail recreation district to put on a week long summer camp for 15 eligible participants. Activities include hiking, zip-lining, rafting, and arts & crafts work with a focus on helping participants develop and improve their social skills.
programs for smaller and varying numbers of eligible participants are also provided for bowling, tennis, swimming, and gymnastics
