Mission: The primary purposes of skylands cycling are:1) to promote, organize and advance the sport of bicycle racing and touring within northwest new jersey2) to educate its members and the public about the benefits of cycling and to promote safe and healthy bicycling by educating its members and the public about safe bicycling practices. 3) to employ its human and financial resources to perform and provide such charitable works and services as may be needed within the community of northwest new jersey.
Programs: Augusta series - this is a 16 week series allowing riders at various bike racing levels, age categories and sexes to develop and practice their skills for actual sanctioned road races. More than 100 different riders participated in the series.
giro del cielo - this is one of the few sanctioned stage races testing a rider's skill in all disciplines of road racing from time trialing, criterion, and road racing. Established as a women's only event it expanded to include men entries based on usa cycling categories achieved.
sussex county cyclocross - a two weekend event in the late fall that is held on a closed course that demands a skill set entirely different than riding a road racing bike. These events were part of the njba cross cup drawing a strong, competitive amateur field.
