My name is Avril Fuentes. I had the privilege of volunteering with SixDegrees.org on a marketing project, and the experience was very rewarding. The team is highly professional and deeply committed to their mission. Throughout the project, they trusted my expertise and empowered me to deliver, offering valuable insights and facilitating smooth interactions with various stakeholders. I was provided with the necessary resources to succeed, which made the collaboration both seamless and enjoyable.

Collaborations are special, powerful and magical. Through SixDegrees.org, the community came together to assemble 2,000 youth resource kits. As educators, it's imperative to instill in children the significance of holistic self-care, transcending beyond academic focuses. These kits catered to comprehensive child development, offering not only reading materials but also essentials for personal well-being such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, high-quality athletic socks, and jump ropes. Adding a heartfelt touch, thoughtful encouragement cards crafted by high schoolers from the Just Keep Livin' Foundation were included for our elementary school students supported by the Andy Roddick Foundation. When messages like "Be you and never change" and "You are magical and enough" resonate among our youth, the impact extends far beyond what we anticipate. We extend our gratitude to SixDegrees.org for orchestrating this meaningful day, fostering community engagement, and illuminating the invaluable work carried out by nonprofits in Austin, TX.

We were honored to be included in the Fargo, ND Six Degrees event! The bags provided not only key necessities to the children we serve but also the feeling of support. Thanks to Six Degrees, Bell Bank, and volunteers for helping us with our mission of enhancing the lives of those we serve.
Getting to volunteer with Six Degrees was absolutely amazing!! I helped them pack kits during a recent volunteer day, and seeing everyone come together was truly a joy. The Six Degrees team made the process super easy to follow and efficient, and we ended up reaching our goal so quickly! It felt great to know that we were giving kids essentials + a few fun additions. The entire day was great, and I met a ton of awesome people, which was an added bonus! I highly recommend volunteering with Six Degrees; they are such a special team that is doing incredible things for their community!
Birds of a feather folk together applies to the entire staff of Six Degrees. They are extremely compassionate and incredibly thoughtful people. The first question that I heard was, "How can we amplify what you are doing?". The second question was, " How can we serve your students?". I believe that they are focused on making people feel loved and included. The attention to detail in making that come to fruition is amazing. I was stunned when they wrote words of encouragement on 1200 gift bags that they created for my students. They even took time to assess the students needs prior to creating the bags. Needless to say, the kid's faces radiated with joy when they opened the gift bags. They felt GOOD!

In the spring of 2024, the Payson High Student Council partnered with SixDegrees.Org on a large kit-building activation event as part of our #BaconToPayson campaign. Our goal was to get Kevin Bacon back to the school in Payson, Utah where the 1984 version of Footloose was filmed to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the film - what we got was so much more than just a celebrity appearance. SixDegrees went above and beyond to help us put together an event that involved not only our school's student body, but the entire region surrounding our community. They helped us to raise money and solicit donations for 5,000 humanitarian aid kits that were built on our football field in one morning and given directly to four local charities - what a win! Even more than this, though, was the unexpected power of connection in our school and local community we experienced working on this activation with SixDegrees. Stacy and Brigid are the beating heart of this organization, and they gave our students and neighbors opportunities to participate in every aspect of this milestone event. Everyone involved came away personally enriched for having participated; I would highly recommend SixDegrees as partner in any capacity.
Working with the SixDegrees.org team was a remarkable experience. We loved working with the entire team at Six Degrees that culminated in a care kit build at Payson High School on April 20, 2024, commemorating the 40th anniversary of the release of Footloose, starring Kevin Bacon. Our charity, Friends of the Coalition (aka - Food & Care Coalition), was able to participate and work alongside Kevin and members of the Six Degree staff and volunteers from Payson High School and surrounding community to assemble 5,000 care kits, of which, 1,250 was received and being distributed to our homeless community located throughout the valley.

SixDegrees.org has supported our organization in a variety of ways. As we strive to incorporate equitable and exciting opportunities for our students, in collaboration with SixDegrees we have been able to offer unforgettable opportunities for our students, including an opportunity to record a song with the Bacon Brothers called PhillyThing! At our most recent annual fundraiser, the students performed live with the Bacon Brothers, which is another experience and example of the extent to which SixDegrees will go to empower youth in the arts in Philadelphia. Working with Stacy and Brigid has been a delightful experience and we are so thankful for all of the support they have provided.
Our partnership has led to many new opportunities and exposure for our programs at Rock to the Future, which benefits our students and grows the impact for youth throughout Philadelphia. Stacy and Brigid -- the leaders behind SixDegrees.Org -- are a delight to work with. Capital One was honored to team up and support the launch their Basic Kindness initiative in partnership with Looking Out Foundation. Over 300 backpacks filled with 7,000+ essential care items were assembled for LGBTQ+ youth that have experienced being unhoused. Kits were distributed to SMYAL and Second Story. There were a TON of logistical details involved in this campaign launch, and Brigid ensured everything was ironed out and organized -- and she did it with a smile! With a focus on collaboration and proactive communication, the SixDegrees.Org team is a true delight to work with. We are already brainstorming our next partnership!
Six Degrees was fantastic to work with. Six Degrees assembled backpacks for our LGBTQ+ youth who are unstably housed and experiencing homelessness in Washington DC. To say these backpacks were the perfect way to support individuals living outside is an understatement. Each item was thoughtfully curated and included with the exclusive purpose to support LGBTQ+ youth who are experiencing homelessness. Often times when supplies are distributed to the most marginalized populations they are leftovers, afterthoughts, or aren't truly intentional in meeting the actual needs of who we serve. Six Degrees did their research! The backpacks were durable and will serve as a way to support LGBTQ+ youth who are unstably housed keep their belongs with them and safe. The items packed in the backpacks are usually not included in these types of kits (razors, deodorant, a pair of Bombas socks, water bottle, and wipes to clean off with)! Thank you Six Degrees for your incredible work and contribution to LGBTQ+ youth and look forward to partnering in the future!
The ACLU has been on the front lines of fighting for LGBTQ+ rights and defending freedom of expression, including drag performances. Nearly 500 anti-LGBTQ bills, especially anti-trans bills, have been introduced in 2023 and yet we were having trouble raising alarm bells about these bills with the general public. SixDegrees.Org, underscoring their support for inclusive communities, freedom of expression and supporting youth, especially vulnerable youth, used their platform to raise awareness about the ACLU's Drag Defense fund with audiences that may not have been aware of this crisis. SixDegrees, Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgewick highlighted this crisis over social media and raised significant funds for us to put to good work defending LGBTQ+ rights and drag artists. In addition to the amazing external-facing work that they did in support of the ACLU, they also equipped us with an in-depth report of the campaign itself. These additional insights on the campaign's performance provided helpful learnings for our organization. All-the-while, the team at SixDegrees.org was a pleasure to work with. We are deeply grateful for the collaboration and support from SixDegrees.org and would jump at the chance to be able to work with them in the future.
My name is Elena Tompkins and I am the Founder of Feed the Fight. In the beginning of the pandemic, I tried to think of a way to help our local restaurants who has been suddenly shutdown. I came up with the idea of raising money to buy food from these restaurants and sending it to local hospitals to help our frontline workers who were overwhelmed with demand. A couple of weeks into our effort, I received a call from Stacy Huston at Six Degrees who has seen a news story about Feed the Fight and explained that they wanted to support us not only financially, but also with Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick doing a promo video and mentioning us during their interviews. I was blown away that an organization as big and established as Six Degrees would consider helping a small group like us, but I can't even begin to tell you what an impact they made. It raised our profile tenfold and definitely led to more corporate sponsorship and just general exposure across the country. A number of other local Feed the Fight chapters were started after the Six Degrees support was announced and countless restaurants AND frontline heroes have been helped as a result. In a nutshell, there were plenty of large efforts underway - World Central Kitchen and others - but I SO appreciate Six Degrees deciding to support our effort as it was a game changer in helping us take our effort to the next level and being able to provide over 50,000 meals to frontline heroes.

I have been aware of this organization for about one year now, and have invested in several of their projects. Sure, they support some causes that are well known, but the way they go about achieving on their behalf are innovative, bold, and a lot of fun. They make you think about these issues in a more human way, bringing humanity to the advocacy work they are doing. My name is Phil Zahn and I have had the incredible privilege to work directly with SixDegrees.org on a campaign to bring hope and healing to the families effected by the Paradise CA fires.
In Partnership with Sackcloth & Ashes, our team traveled to CA to share a message of hope, unity, and love with many individuals and families. Not only did the executive Director (Stacy Huston) of Six Degrees give support and logistical help during the campaign, (schedule, video, social, press) she actually came with us! We spoke at a Homeless shelter, handed out donation Sackcloth & Ashes blankets, and joined a community meeting at the local church which has become a refuge for the city.
On a completely separate trip in Park City, UT during the campaign Kevin Bacon himself joined us at a different shelter to greet the friends staying there, hand out blankets personally, and build relationships with those in attendance. This obviously goes far above and beyond any expectations that we could have laid out in our initial discussions about working together ;)

I attended an event with Sixdegrees in Annapolis, MD last year. It was at a little small business on Main street. Kevin Bacon surprised a local charity and the students that are in their music program. They brought so much joy to our little community. It's the little things that matters and they get it!
I have personally witnessed SixDegrees in action! SixDegrees really cares about the causes they get involved in. The events they plan are always very successful. They have raised countless dollars and been personally responsible for hundreds of volunteer man-hours to help small grassroots organizations throughout the country. I have volunteered and helped raise money at several of their events including a Karaoke event benefiting the local police department and they are always very well planned and put together. SixDegrees is the best!
I've been to several of the SixDegrees.org pop-ups in the DC area. They are always fun, energetic and well run! The looks on people's faces when the band comes out is priceless and they raise awareness for so many important causes! They also do a great job at using social media to maximize exposure of each event. They really help increase visibility of these small, local charities!

I have volunteered at several SixDegree events. They are a great nonprofit because they use the recognition from celebrities to help local causes and grassroots charities. Furthermore, they encourage people to be celebrities of their own and utilize the gifts we all possess to make positive impact in each other’s lives.
I've been volunteering for 6Degrees for almost a year and can say that working with this organization has been incredibly rewarding. The work we do to strengthen community bonds and spread kindness has been inspirational. The mission of 6Degrees is simple and easy to relate to, therefore, a real impact is made at the first level of interaction between our followers and their communities!
We partnered with SixDegrees.org to honor and recognize our brave officers who responded to the Simpson Park shooting in June of 2017. Kevin Bacon and his brother, Michael, were a huge hit for our Karaoke with COPS! The officers in the department said it was the best fundraiser we have ever done. So much so, we are continuing to hold Karaoke with COPS each year with a guest singer. SixDegress.org does so much for the community.
Sometimes in the world of kind deeds and non profits, it can be a bit of an maze, with questions such as “well does this help a cause I care about?” “What makes this organization different from the others?” Etc. What makes SixDegrees.org is it’s wonderful and unique approach to sharing organizations ad causes, even giving smaller voices the opportunity to be heard. If there’s a denim drive or if there’s a need for a certain type of blood in local blood drives, I’ve been proud to see SixDegrees.org not only mention them, but even engage and ask more questions about them. This has helped give a larger platform to smaller groups or causes, that may have gotten lost in the shuffle a bit on social media. I applaud the good SixDegrees.org does and look forward to continued involvment and engagement with it in the future.
