Mission: Programs encompass education, prevention and intervention while public policy reform and community collaboration are integral componets of the mission. We are combating a multi-billion dollar sex trade industry. In Hawaii, there is a huge demand for underage girls and boys to provide sexual services in exchange for cash or in kind favors. One in 10 youth that we have surveyed have reported that someone has tried to recruit them at an average age of 12.9, 6% reported they had been a victim and 16% reported they they knew someone involved. Our programs work in collaboration with criminal justice agencies and existing social services to assist individuals in developing alternatives to the commercial sex trade and to prevent youth from falling prey to sex exploiters.
