Mission: Our mission is to cycle off poverty by providing access to computer technology. The byte back computer recycling program will save the unwanted machines which otherwise would have gone to landfills. We repair, refurbish, and upgrade these computers and make them available to schools, special need students, and low-income families.
Results: Provided” Mindful Yoga” pilot program for 7th grade students to prevent Bullying at Randolph middle school and Coulwood middle school. Our program is designed to teach students practical skills to manage stress and enhance their emotional and physical health. This program directly addresses the following Grade 7 Healthful Living competencies from the North Carolina Standard Course of Study: Teaching students of Alexander youth Network mind body exercises to reduce stress anxiety, anger, depression and sleep disorder. This program is part of their RPTC program of Dr. Bruce Perry, a child trauma expert and Neuron scientist well know in the country. Computers for Kids program Partnership with Bank of America and Winthrop University Donated 450 computers to disadvantaged children in Mecklenburg County so that they are able to access information technology at home and are able to connect with school programs to do their home work in the comfort and nurturing supervision of parents and guardians. We also donated refurbished computers to local churches, community organization such Urban league Guild and other non-profits.
Target demographics: Our areas of focus include managing stress, developing self-discipline and preventing childhood obesity. These widespread issues affect our nation’s children, families and schools, and impact the future of our country.
