Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Recreation & Sports, Sports

Mission: A youth gymnastics program in the high desert that is currently sponsoring meet fees, uniforms, and coaching fees for 30 youth to participate in aau and usa meets. The gym also sponsors several meets annually. The program seeks to support the physical and mental development of the youth through the dynamic and rigorous gymnastic standards.

Programs: The helendale-based gymnastics organization has developed a team of youth with dreams to develop themselves. The organization sponsors meets and has a core staff of well-educated and experienced coaches that provide classes at various levels throughout the week for the full year. Grants for students who are passionate about learning and developing their gymnastic skills, but are unable to afford direct fees, are provided. Assistance is provided through grants to support class participation and, as necessary, uniforms and meet expenses. Summer camp in cooperation with the silver lakes association: coaches volunteered 4 hours to support approximately 75 students in the helendale area. The services were provided free of charge and slg was not compensated by the association. Separated by age group. Value of $2,200 provided for free to the community. In 2017, 25 students qualified for state, all attended the palm springs state competition. In previous years, when state competitions are further, unfortunately, due to expenses including meet expenses less students usually attend. Additionally, the socio-economic position of some of the new students will make it more difficult for them to attend state meets as they begin to qualify. All 25 students that attended state qualified for nationals. Unfortunately, zero attended due to the cost burden to attend.
