Causes: Animals
Mission: Silver Comet Animal Welfare Alliance provides support and resources for the benefit of under-served animals in west Georgia. We strive to advance the cause of animal welfare by providing assistance to local shelters and rescues including networking, transportation, funding, community outreach & education and the introduction of innovative life-saving programs.
Results: In 2018, SCAWA volunteers have donated thousands of transport miles, hundreds of hours networking on social media, and thousands of dollars in direct monetary donations, supplies and veterinary medical care. We have partnered with the ASPCA for multiple campaigns, are a Best Friends Network Partner and qualified for bronze status with GuideStar. Our plans for 2019 include implementing several grant programs currently under review, participating in off-site adoptions, developing a formal training calendar and growing our support base in west Georgia.
