Silver Cloud Special Cat Services

My family recently adopted two adorable kittens from Silver Cloud at their Pets Mart adoption center. The adoption process was thorough, yet easy to get through. The ladies working helped us to find kittens that would be the perfect fit into our family. Our kittens are well socialized, healthy, and confident with a dash of sass. We couldn't be more happy!

Wonderful organization that cares very much for all the lives they save. Not many rescues will help cats with special needs, but this is one of the special rescues that helps all in need.

I have known the founder of Silver Cloud Cathy, through facebook since before the sanctuary was a reality. I have followed her and the cats from the very beginning and seen many come and go. Every one of them have known love and been shown just how special they truly are. There have been many who came to Cathy sick, injured or with "defects" from birth that I have watched her help and heal. There have been many that were scared and did not trust humans because they were so badly mistreated. Cathy helped them overcome the fear and learned to trust and love again. I also have helped to transport two very sweet baby boys to Silver Cloud and my heart melts every time I see pictures of them and what loving cats they have become. Given the opportunity, I will help more babies get to their forever in Silver Cloud and hope to some day meet the angel that runs this heaven on earth. I have, and will continue to donate to this beautiful place as long as I am able.

I adopted my sweet guy from Silver Cloud. The two women running the adoption place at Petsmart knew all about my boy's history and what he loved and what he hated. They made the adoption smooth and pleasant and they let me bring him the brightest part of my life. I'm going back to them when I'm ready to adopt again.

I adopted my beautiful Clara from Silver Cloud Sanctuary. She was found half starved, covered in fleas, and injured. Both of her ear tips had been ripped off. She had wounds all over her legs and body. She was very lucky when someone found her and took her to Silver Cloud. I found her 3 months later at an adoption event and I fell in love with the chubby beautiful loving girl she had become. Silver Cloud healed her wounds, fed her well, and loved her through her recovery. I could hardly believe the pictures I was given were of the same healthy girl that I took home with me! What a remarkable difference Silver Cloud made for my Clara and so many other fortunate kitties who find themselves in Silver Cloud! When I'm ready to adopt another cat it will be through Silver Cloud.

I have followed the stories of many of their rescued kitties and fallen love over and over. Kitties that would have died or been killed because no one else reached out a hand to help them. Facility cats who would been killed. Deserted abandoned cats no other options. Kitties who others simply stepped back to let them die because of age or behavior or illness. Silver Cloud reaches out. Pulls them in with love so deep it encompasses a village world wide. Silver Cloud and my beloved Irvin who I help sponsor. The love and care is a world all it's own.

I had nowhere else to turn for old cat that I found. Every place I called told me he was just too old and they couldn't help me. They all told me to just have him put down. Then a kind person told me about Silver Cloud Sanctuary. When I called Cathy told me the sanctuary was full but she would put him on her waiting list and ask her rescue contacts for help. In just a few short days she found him a foster home for him to spend the rest of his life in. Silver Cloud Sanctuary did more for this old cat than every other rescue or shelter in Washington and Oregon combined, they did it quickly and never once treated me like a bad person for not being able to take care of the cat. I visited the sanctuary since then and I could feel the love in the place the minute I walked through the door. The cats came to greet me and each one was well cared for. The sanctuary was clean and the only odor was the smell of cat litter, not urine or feces like I would have expected. I am now a regular donator to the sanctuary to help care for the old cat that I found. I rest easy knowing that he has love and everything he needs to have a few more years of life.

Wow. That's all I can say. Wow. I'm in a unique position to see the cats from this sanctuary often. They always appear exceptionally well cared for and their trust in Cathy and her love for them is amazing and obvious. Even those with less than stellar pasts have a new beginning in this sanctuary. If you're looking for a great place to donate time or money or if you're looking for a new family member I highly recommend Silver Cloud Sanctuary. This is rescue done right!

I have known Cathy Fout and her sanctuary for two years through Facebook. I helped transport two cats to her. I love how she keeps everyone updated on how the cats are doing. Hopefully one day I will get to spend a few days there. I am happy to help with her auctions whenever I can. Cathy, her family and volunteers do such a wonderful job. It is a pleasure to know them all.

I've been hearing a lot about Silver Cloud for the last year or so. Being a local animal rescue I wanted to check them out for myself so I arranged a time to visit. I was impressed to say the least! The sanctuary is smaller than I expected but the cats are so well cared for and it's obvious when you spend time with them. I asked about their veterinary care and Cathy offered to show me. She opened a file compartment thing and started pulling out their records. She keeps better medical records on the cats than I do with my children! She has their shot records and everyone gets check ups every year. She even makes a note when they sneeze or cough even if they don't need treatment. She has the date each one came into the sanctuary and what they were like with their medical needs and behavior and what she knows of their past. To say this woman loves the cats she takes care of is putting it lightly. She goes way above and beyond what I would have expected. The cats turn to her for comfort. During my two hours in the sanctuary I must have seen at least 20 cats come to her for a pet or a nose touch and several curled up on her lap for a quick nap. She welcomed all of them equally and seemed happy to greet each one as they approached her. Even the ones that can't be touched were given a kind and gentle word of comfort as she went near them. Someone else mentioned in their review that the first thing you notice is the peace and love. That's true but those words don't seem to be enough. I have never entered another place that felt quite like this. It felt like coming home. I recommend Silver Cloud highly. I'm anticipating my next visit like a child looks forward to Christmas morning!

I've known the founder of Silver Cloud Special Cat Services for a few years and have found her to be completely dedicated to helping cats that would otherwise be left by the wayside. Two years ago she heard of a cat whose owner was going to shoot her if someone didn't take her that day because the cat had scratched someone. Even though she already had a full sanctuary, she brought in this cat who had been badly abused. I'm happy to say that cat, Ariana, is now a happy part of my family.

A kitten was brought to a shelter to be put down because her legs were deformed but Cathy brought little Ayla to Silver Cloud, promising her a lifetime home. But little Ayla has now left the Silver Cloud for a "regular" home where she will be safe and well taken care of for all her years. This could not have happened without Cathy and Silver Cloud.

The work done at Silver Cloud is wonderful. And Cathy is completely transparent with regard to how donations are used, etc. She works very hard to make sure that every dollar that comes in is stretched as far as possible so that they can help as many cats as possible.

Senior and Special Need cats are most often put to sleep in a shelter .At this wonderful place they have a chance at life. Sick or hurt cats are able to be rehabilitated and find forever homes. I trust the owner Cathy Fout 100% and donate on a regular basis. I encourage others to do the same.

I have supported Silver Cloud for a while now because I love that Cathy Fout is transparent when it comes to how the funds are spent and the love she has for the kitties in her care. We have recently adopted a cat from Silver Cloud who a few short months ago had no future because of his behavior. Cathy rescued him and loved and socialized him to where he is the loving cat we adopted. That says a lot about the love and care the kitties receive at Silver Cloud. Cathy and the volunteers work hard to take care of the unloved, unwanted and sick kitties to provide for their needs and socialize them so they can be placed in their forever homes.

The wonderful lives Cathy Fout, her family and volunteers have saved is truly remarkable, heart inspiring and joyful to keep reading about. I help with donating/bidding on their auctions when I can, and if I can't, I do pay for food and/or litter to help out. They do a terrific job.

Kathy and the team at Silver Cloud are awesome!!!! They help so many cats! They are helping us to home a few cats. God bless them!

I found Silver Cloud a couple of years ago. My very first foster cat came through them; she was also my first foster "fail". Queen Sophie joined our family right away. She is FIV+, which means that I watch her very closely every time I hear her sneeze. Since she is FIV+, she doesn't have a strong immune system. The next kitty I was asked if I could provide a home for, we didn't even pretend that she was a foster; I adopted her immediately upon meeting her. She has a birth defect where a part of her brain wasn't fully developed in the womb & her case is pretty severe. I generally average 3 hours per day caring for her. If it hadn't been for Cathy & Silver Cloud, both of these babies may have been killed due to their issues. Cathy believes that every kitty deserves a home & love, no matter what their special needs are. This is where the unwanted, unlovable, unadoptable kitties can be loved, wanted, & adopted into very special homes. I not only volunteer here, but I'm obviously a client also.

I have been a member of this village for quite a while. Cathy Fout is wonderful and a blessing to all these fur babies. She takes in the kitties that have no where else to go. From the barely newborns to the poor seniors, to the handicapped and almost forgotten.. I consider it a blessing and a privilige to be a part of The Silver Cloud FAMILY...

I visited the sanctuary to drop off some kitten food a few months ago. The first thing I noticed was that the place was exceptionally clean for housing so many cats. I could smell litter but it wasn't over powering. I could not, however, smell urine and that surprised me with so many males. The sanctuary wasn't spotless by any means but it was obviously well kept. The founder was friendly and welcoming and invited me to sit for a while and play with the cats which of course I couldn't resist. The cats in the sanctuary are well cared for and it's obvious by their shiny coats, outgoing personalities, and the fact that in over an hour there wasn't a single cat fight. When I'm ready to adopt a new cat this is definitely where I'm headed!

This place is special. The peace and love are the first things you feel. Cathy is a special and wonderful person committed to making every moment the best a kitty can have once in her care. The kitties are just as amazing. Each takes on a special role in the family. Comforting, easing newbies into their new normal. Often teaching kitties that fear will never be in their world again. While it's often tragedy bringing these kitties here, they soon learn it's a true safe haven. Cathy has also created the most amazing village to help these rescued kitties. This rescue is simply like no other.

I have been volunteering for silver cloud for nearly a year, and I absolutely love it! The amount of love, care, and time put into the sanctuary is just amazing. Even feral cats love Cathy! :) donate your time, supplies, out cash to silver cloud. It's worth it.

Cathy is wonderful and loves each of her rescues. My first cat approval visit came with all tails up and purrs. Am a forever rescue human now. Butter and Molly, well all are my favorite. Be all you can be and volunteer to loves those fur babies who are not well and not forgotten in this forever home.
