Mission: Siloam is a non-profit whose mission is to enrich the lives of people impacted by hiv/aids by providing a broad range of integrative mind, body and spirit services and programs. Our vision is to support an hiv community that is vibrant, safe, empowered and free from stigma. In addition to rotating research and nutrition programs, siloam provides the following: bodywork sessions (massage and reiki); spiritual direction, individual counseling and support groups; yoga, chair yoga and chi kung. Siloam also offers retreats for people living with hiv/aids and their caregivers.
Programs: All program service expenses are incurred in providing mind, body and spirit programming for people impacted by hiv/aids. The organizations programs complement the services provided by medical professionals, helping people to feel safe and empowered. In addition to rotating research and nutrition programs, the organization provides the following: bodywork sessions (massage and reiki); spiritual direction, individual counseling and support groups; yoga, chair yoga and chi kung. In 2014, approximately 1,000 people were supported by these programs and services.
Siloam is a unique organization whose mission is to enrich the well-being of people impacted by HIV/AIDS by providing a broad range of integrated mind/body/spirit services that empowers them to develop skills and personal strengths leading to more meaningful lives. There is no charge for services and clients are welcome to attend those they feel would be most helpful. Clients using their services experience a restored sense of wellness, enhanced self-esteem, a reduction in anxiety and depression and improved relationships with self and others.
