Causes: Environment, Land Resources Conservation

Mission: To tackle issues that will help silicon valley remain the international capital of innovation, with a healthy business climate and great quality of life for its workers.

Programs: Conduct and promote non-partisan analysis, study and research of public policy issues affecting the silicon valley, including housing, environmental protection, education, land use and energy, and help alleviate human need and suffering in the region by combating hunger, deprivation and physical affliction with the provision of funding for food, clothing, shelter, medical care and other basic necessities of life. Building community: silicon valley turkey trot the foundation directed the annual applied materials "silicon valley turkey trot" in 2017. The community/charity 5k walk or run, 10k run and kid's fun run drew 22,723 participants contributing $905,000 to five local charities: second harvest food bank, silicon valley housing trust, the health trust, healthier kids, and second harvest food bank santa cruz.

building community: silicon valley: santa runin the sixth year of this race, the santa run provided revenue for christmas in the park and downtown ice, sustaining a holiday tradition in downtown san jose. The race attracted 3,964 participants and raised $65,000 which was donated to the beneficiaries.

building community: heart & soles the foundation established a race, heart & soles, in the spring of 2014 to help raise money to purchase salad bars that would be placed in under-served schools throughout the region. In the fourth year, 2,037 people participated in the race. After achieving the goal to place salad bars in every school which applied for the program, the foundation raised $143,000, to fund youth health and exercise programs.
