Nonprofit Overview
Causes: Eye Diseases, Blindness & Vision Impairments, Health
Mission: We are an international organization working with partners in developing countries to eliminate avoidable blindness and promote equality of opportunity for disabled people. Sightsavers' vision is of a world where no one is blind from avoidable causes and where visually impaired people participate equally in society.
Results: Working together with our partners since 1949, we have supported over 262.5 million treatments for blinding and potentially blinding conditions.
Direct beneficiaries per year: Working with our partners in 2012, we carried out over 49 million treatments to restore sight or prevent blindness.
Geographic areas served: We work with local partners in more than 30 countries in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean.
