i shop at Lake Forest Park Town Center, and the Arts Council has a gallery that sells creations from many local artists. It is the only place like it within a 10 miles. The products are very unique, from jewelry to paintings to everyday things made in a real and beautiful way. It helps artists made a living. And in the summer, they bring live music to the animal acres park.
The Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council enriches the community in so many ways. I always look forward to their Arts Festival, the event is so well run and so many wonderful artists are represented. I also loved the Edible Books Fair, so creative and family oriented.
The Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council is a unique entity in that it is an independent arts agency separate from a city department or commission where you typically see such an organization. It has been around for 25 years and has a long standing tradition of making an impact within the communities it serves. The Council offers a wide variety of events and programs for all ages. We need the arts in our communities to celebrate people and to nurture creativity and this organization is making it happen.
I love being involved with the Arts Council. They bring so many different kinds of arts to so many people in the community they serve. When I was young, the arts weren't something that were valued. It's so great to see the many inter-generational activities the Arts Council sponsors. The Edible Books Fair last spring was the first time I ever tried doing something "artistic" and it was so much fun. I love seeing how the arts seem to touch the kids and they just beam because they get to be involved. It warms my heart to see mom's or dad's dancing with their young children at the free Concerts in the Park in the summer. Through sponsoring artists in the classrooms in the Shoreline Schools, children get to experience creating with a professional - something that many would not be able to experience without the Arts Council. It's a small community organization but they do so many things in the community.
Small but mighty, the Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council strives to bring art and artisitc experiences of all types to the local Shoreline and Lake Forest Park communities. From the summer concerts in the park -- free to all ages -- to displays of visual art mounted at Shoreline city hall, to arts programming for children, to the gallery shop at Towne Center taht features the work of local artists, the sheer breadth of programming SLFPAC offers to its community is simply impressive. The efforts of the Arts Council enrich the civic life of our two cities and provide many opportunities for diverse groups of people to get out of their house and interact with their neighbors. I'm proud to be associated with it!

As with most CPAs I am reluctant to join an organization without some knowledge and background about their programs and mission. I am not am artist, I am not a musician and I am not an actor (OK, sometimes I act-up). With an ongoing contact with the SLFPAC through its summer concert series, shows and jazz camps I knew they were right for me. When asked, I joined. The staff and board are engaged and diligent in pursuing the objectives of the Council.
We will bring the Magic of the Arts (Council) to our communities!

For a small town Arts Council I'm always impressed with the sheer quality of their programing. I LOVE the free summer concerts they host in the community parks, and I really loved the fall workshop program they had this year!
The Shoreline Lake Forest Park Arts Council is unfaltering in its commitment to supporting arts in the community in which it serves. The programming is diverse and unique. I loved the Edible Book Show - brilliant fun. Also the Shoreline Lake Forest Park Arts Council does very well to offer tangible opportunities to practicing artists which is vital to individuals who earn part of all of their living as an artist.
The Shoreline Lake Forest Park Arts Council is a very active organization which provides many Art Activities for the people of the cities of Lake Forest Park and Shoreline. Many of these activities are hands on participatory ones as well a performance and visual art. Most recently a SketchCrawl was held at the Third Place Commons with many artists inside and outside sketching and available to discuss their art with onlookers. In conjunction with the SketchCrawl were six different hands on activities available to whomever wished to try their hand at art.
Probably, the SL/LFP Arts Council is best known for the summer SL Arts Festival held each June at the Shoreline Center. This festival includes artists' booths, hands on activities and art and craft sales booths.
Recently several one night Create and Make art classes were made available to the public. These classes covered fused glass art, print art, uncycled journals, and hands on Henna.
During the summer there are many concerts in the Park sponsored by the Arts Council. Ongoing throughout the year are different performance art events as well. This Arts Council is a fantastic benefit to the community and the artists it serves.
