Shining Light In Darkness is a highly structured and efficient organization. Staff are well versed in the issues of interpersonal violence and offer services to a wide range of populations including both genders and veterans. They build strong community relationships with agencies, across the board, to address the complexities of gender-based violence. They raise awareness on relevant issues through trainings and maintain a cadre of volunteers to assist with outreach. This organization is also very unique for having an electronic portal for referrals. The portal allows for self-referrals and partner referrals, as needed, which is an efficient way to reach a broader audience. Shining Light In Darkness is an invaluable partner and consistently surpass expectations. The client referral process is streamlined and user friendly.
I am very pleased to write this review for such an outstanding non-profit organization. “SLTD” is impactful and powerful, a true driving force for many to show their faces out of the darkness and bring forward the pain for healing and restoration. Many people were able to be set free with comfort of knowing their information would be respected and all information given would be confidential. I truly recommend this great organization.
I first learned about Shining Light In Darkness back in 2018. I met Mr. and Mrs. Dudley at a Microsoft store meet and greet, they told me about their organization and Mrs. Dudley told me a little about her story that manifested their organization. I was just standing there, with so many mixed emotions (not in a bad way), but more in an admiration way because she was brave enough to tell me about her life story. We exchanged numbers and she helped me find someone to seek counseling with I was going to counseling every week to two weeks, and then I told my sister about it because we both had been through traumatic life situations. So if you are looking for an organization to trust and open up to, then Shining Light In Darkness would be the one.
I run a Holistic Health Clinic and have volunteered and donated event space to shining light in Darkness.I have been impressed with its leadership and its efficacy in helping domestic violence victims. They provide compassionate services and help educate the community in the fight against domestic violence. They have one of the best training programs for volunteers - they really dive deep and try to get us to understand all the intersecting factors/issues that play into DV and how we can help address each of those or at least pass on relevant resources. I'm proud to be volunteering and lending my support to Shining Light in Darkness and have learned a lot about helping victims and about lobbying for our cause.

Shining Light in Darkness is a much needed resource for parents, teens and college students.
Shining Light in Darkness services helped me talk with my daughter about domestic violence, teen dating violence and sexual assault before sending her off to college.
Because of their efforts, I am able to sleep better at night knowing that my daughter is armed with the knowledge to discern trouble, protect herself and have resources to help herself and share with others if trouble arises.
Thank you Shining Light in Darkness
Shining Light in Darkness really cares about the underserved , survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. This non-profit attends trainings and creates partnerships to collaborate with the community and agencies to stay abreast on how to serve and help those in need. They are great and resourceful.
This is a wonderful program that I think is very necessary in so many communities. Shining Light helps undeserved survivors or domestic abuse and sexual assault. I believe it helps them stand up and give them more courage to speak their stories and re-build their lives. I know that it has given friends of mine the opportunity to speak out, be heard and feel better.
I have just recently connected with Shining Light In Darkness. However, the desire and drive to support our community and under-served populations is impressive. I am thankful for the opportunity to be a part of this momentum!
I have been aware of Shining Light in Darkness for a few years now, but finally made the decision to join the board because I so believe in the work the organization is doing. Florida Dudley, Executive Director, brings a personal story and passion to the group that infuses each member of the team with motivation and resolve. I have personally watched Florida and other board members tell their stories and pledge to help anyone in a past or current situation fraught with domestic and/or sexual violence. This organization is dedicated to educating the public and helping anyone suffering from violence. I am honored to be a part of this group!
Domestic violence plagues a substantial amount of people in today's society. Shining Light in Darkness provides a safe haven for those affected by domestic abuse. This organization also gives hope while providing a platform to share testimonies with others that will help, heal, and encourage those in similar potentially harmful situations.
This nonprofit has reached the community in ways that have been missing. Shining Light in Darkness has made it their mission to procure services, provide outreach, and lend a helping hand to minorities, the LGBT community, and men who are survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault.
Shining Light and Darkness has been impactful in the Charlotte, NC community by rallying and providing support to those who have been sexually abused or a part of domestic violence. I am very grateful for all of those who play a part in this organization because they truly have a heart to help heal.
I was abused at age 14 by the chief of police this was fifty years ago. I kept this inside afraid to talk about it because I was threatened. I was told that if I told anyone that he would kill me. There were no organizations out there to help me I felt alone Shining Light In Darkness is a great organization to help those that been abused sexually and domestic violence just having someone to talk too Means so much.

Shining Light in Darkness is an amazing organization that focuses on being the voice for victims and survivors of both sexual assault and domestic violence. I utilize their services for a incident I had in the past and they truly were there for me.
Shining Light in Darkness is so needed in our community! Because the organization helps underserved victims (men, women of color, LGBTQA+, disabled, veterans) of sexual assault and domestic violence, they are ensuring ALL victims get the support and services they need. I choose to volunteer for Shining Light because the organization is laser focused on these audiences and is looking for creative ways to serve them.
As the sister of a victim of rape, the great work that this organization is doing is necessary and an asset to have in our community. Their contribution is vital in the lives of so many. I appreciate the passion and commitment of Shining Light in Darkness's leadership team!

I am impressed by the strategic planning that has gone into Shining Light in Darkness. The proper people, resources and networks have been sought to ensure that every dime given is spent wisely. Both the co-founders have used their passion for the cause of domestic violence and sexual assault and their business careers to collaborate with the strengths of others. Their skill of synergistic relationships and strategic planning make every gift impactful in the fight.
