Causes: Arts & Culture
Mission: The purpose of the sherwood foundation for the arts is to inspire, nurture, promote and support cultural arts for the education, enjoyment and enrichment of the citizens of sherwood, oregon.
Programs: The sherwood foundation for the arts produced a summer musical in stella olsen park and a winter play at the sherwood center for the arts. The summer musical "anything goes," ran for four days, wednesday through saturday evening, in june. The cast was about 35 actors, there were 30 in our orchestra, the production and stage crew included 40 people, and our total audience for all four nights was 815 people. For the first time in 2017, we produced a winter play "you can't take it with you, and performed it at the sherwood center for the arts, over two weekends. We presented a show on friday evening, a saturday matinee, and a saturday evening performance. The cast was about 25 actors, there were 30 people in the production and stage crew, and our total audience for all six performances was 270 people.
the sherwood foundation for the arts teamed with the city of sherwood to bring missoula children's theater (mct) to sherwood. The sherwood center for the arts hosted two weeks of mct for over 115 child actors. The two august productions were "gulliver's travels and "treasure island. "
the sherwood foundation for the arts (sfa) teamed with the city of sherwood to produce the fourth annual puzzle competition in sherwood. The sfa had 40 teams competing in three categories: individual, teams of two, and teams of four. Prizes donated by 27 sherwood businesses were given fastest three individuals/teams in each category.
