It’s truly incredible how many lives are saved bc of this all-volunteer run nonprofit. Natasha works tirelessly to save every dog she can, from seniors and heartworm positive to moms with puppies, and dogs that were shot and abandoned. I’ve never met anyone that works as hard as she does. Natasha drives the van full of pups through the night to new shelters, pays for their medical care, finds fosters for at risk dogs so they’re not euthanized, manages social media, finds placements for each dog at new shelters with space, and mentors shelters in rural counties and provides them with resources. Shelter Dog Transport Alliance uses every penny to help shelter pets, and nobody is paid to do this lifesaving work. They are true rescue heroes.
Shelter dog transport alliance saves thousands of shelter dogs and cats every year. I enjoy walking dogs before their transports. Everyone is helpful & welcoming. As an all volunteer run nonprofit they work really hard to save animals. Thank you SDTA!
We don't have the time to commit to a puppy at the moment but really LOVE having time with puppies.
After chatting with this group we were set up with 2 separate sets of puppies and it was such an easy pickup/drop off at specific times that works so well in my schedule.
Great group for a great cause!
I have been a volunteer with the SDTA for over a year & have loved every second of it. Each volunteer truly feels like they’re making a difference in each animal’s life, and I have felt so appreciated by the staff. They have allowed me to volunteer in different roles. They always make sure that I feel comfortable & confident with each role. I try to volunteer with the SDTA as often as I can because I enjoy it so much! :)
In volunteering for Shelter Dog Transport Alliance (SDTA), I was able to help rescue 19 dogs from a county shelter that would have been euthanized. Through SDTA, we moved the dogs from to a rescue 5.5 hours across the state.
Additionally we have had the pleasure of fostering several dogs prior to them being transported to rescues in the Northeast. By doing that we know we open up one more space for another dog at a shelter that would otherwise be full. It's a great feeling knowing that we are helping to save lives.
Shelter dog transport alliance is the real deal. They are a small group of all volunteers working relentlessly to save shelter pets from our overcrowded and underfunded shelters here in western North Carolina. Every donation goes directly to supporting the animals in need. They are wonderful organization to support. I have volunteered for 3 years now.
I have been helping with dog walking for months with this awesome transport rescue group! I just recently a few months back started helping with fostering dogs for them while waiting on transport. I can’t say enough good things about them. I am so proud to be able to help anyway I can! They do an awesome job!!! They truly go above and beyond for all the dogs!!
I have been volunteering with Shelter Dog Transport Alliance for a couple of years, participating at transport events and fostering dogs. I am continuously impressed with the organization’s dedication and compassion for animals. Volunteering with SDTA has been an incredibly rewarding experience and I am honored to be a part of this important effort.
This is the best little transport group in all of North Carolina. SDTA does amazing work with Asheville, NC as its hub and supporting rural county shelters and rescues all throughout North Carolina. They host walking groups an hour before each transport and are always looking for volunteers willing to foster dogs and puppies.
