Mission: Shelby County HFH builds affordable decent homes for those unable to acquire homes through conventional means. We build simple sturdy three or four bedroom homes and sell them to families at cost and at no interest. Typical homes sell for $40,000. Homeowner families are required to contribute 300 hours of sweat equity. Shelby County HFH is located south of Birmingham. We are currently developing a small subdivision and recently began a program to repair and rehabilitate existing homes. We have also launched a partnership with other non-profits to eliminate substandard housing in the city of Alabaster within 15 to 20 years.
