Shasta Women's Refuge and the Family Justice Center together work to harbor. and advocate on behalf of. women and children. In a community with high levels of unemployment, poverty and lack of education, domestic issues are heightened, and abuse is rampant. Many women have benefitted from the wonderful programs provided by this group. Their stories of courage can be found in video clips on the website. Our society needs groups like this to continue to educate against abusive behaviors, and to help women emerge from patterns of generational abuse. Mission: To help end domestic violence and sexual assault in shasta county. We are committed to providing victims of domestic violence and sexual assault with the resources needed for safety, healing, and prevention of further victimization. We work with our community to promote and participate in intervention, education and advocacy to prevent relational, family, and sexual violence.
Programs: Direct sevices to clients - the organization provides counseling and outreach services directly to clients who are victims or potential victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
shelter - the organization operates a "safe house" for victims of domestic violence who are in acute situations.
education services - the organization provides educational programs for the community targeting high risk areas to help prevent the expansion of domestic violence and sexual assault.
