Mission: The sharks foundation partners with individual donor and corporate partners who support its mission to enhance the lives of underserved youth and families in the community. Funds received are allocated throughout the season to various nonprofits and schools through the foundation's many programs and projects that align with its annual giving campaign. The sharks foundation also supplies emergency aid when appropriate and supports the advancement of youth hockey. Since its inception, the sharks foundation has given nearly $12 million to bay area organizations.
Programs: Commuinity assist grants: the sharks foundation hosts an annual application process in which non-profit organizations can apply for grant funding. Selected organizations support youth and their families, with special emphasis toward underserved populations and at-risk youth. The sharks foundation has provided funding through the grant process of nearly $3 million since fiscal year 2011.

Kaboom! - the sharks foundation partners with kaboom! To build sharks-themed playgrounds in areas in santa clara county that need a safe accessible play space. Tech museum of innovation - the sharks foundation is partnering with sap to ensure that stem education is accessible to all students in the bay area through field trip days at the tech, and a hockey-themed design challenge exhibit at the museum. Magical bridge playground - the sharks foundation partnered with sap to sponsor the innovation zone within the magical bridge playground in redwood city, this playground is designed to be socially inclusive for children and adults of varying physical and cognitive abilities.
