Mission: Sharing hope ministries, inc. Is an organization dedicated to provide assistance to people whose lives have been affected by natural disaster, poverty, disease and famine. The organization responds to natural disasters by sending volunteer work crews to rebuild homes, hope and lives. Sharing hope serves as a channel for churches, community groups and mission groups in their efforts to provide food, health care, education and shelter to affected communities. Programs: Disaster relief: milton, pennsylvania completed the construction of a replacement home for a home destroyed by fire in milton, pa. Colorado (flooding victims): 250 volunteers donated over 12,300 hours to assist in the restoration of 23 homes, a church, constructed storage sheds for homeowners, and a bathhouse for volunteers. Volunteers assisted in office work, telephone calls, meal preparation. Dirt and rocks were trucked to rebuild roads that were washed out. Creek clean up to prevent further flooding. The volunteers worked in five colorado communities in larimar county after flooding devastated the area cutting off communities and destroying homes. Two cases of bibles were provided to homeowners in the disaster areas where sharing hope ministries and volunteers helped homeowners recover from disaster.
international assistance: two cases of bibles were purchased and provided to children attending the haven of hope schools in zambia, africa dominican republic: three cases of bibles were purchased and provided to local churches. A forty-foot shipping container of supplies was provided to centro cristiano, an association of local churches. The container provided desks for students and teachers at the association's school; bunk beds and dressers for the church camp; medical supplies for use at community clinics; sports equipment for the church camp and constuction equipment to be used by volunteers at the camp and to build new homes. Twenty-one volunteers ministered at five churches through bible lessons for men, women and children; crafts for women and children, eyeglass distributions for women; music and drama at several churches and accounting assistance at the church camp. Volunteers built steel trusses and put a roof on a 50'x 70' building at the church camp. Several other maintenance projects were completed at the camp. Volunteers leveled a dirt floor, put in plumbing for a kitchen and bathroom, poured a concrete floor in a new constructed building the san juan area of the dominican republic. The building is used for a feeding program for local children and as a community church. 131 children are supported through child sponsors. This program provides uniforms and school supplies necessary to attend public school. The children in the program receive lunch, tutoring, and bible lessons. The program provides a christmas party, gifts for each child and a bountiful christmas dinner to all participants. Haiti: there is on-going support of the hands and feet project in grand goaive, haiti. The project provides family unit living for orphaned children in grand goaive and jacmel, haiti. A 1995 dodge truck was donated and shipped to the project in grand goaive.
