parent and family support - provided personal home and hospital visits by trained parent leader to provide positive emotional support, provided advocacy at individual education program meetings, and conducted various social gatherings for families who have children with down syndrome providing encouragement and support. Conducted meetings offered in english and spanish at different valley locations to bring parents of children who have down syndrome together, to educate and empower them. Provided financial assistance to families in need, and offered "sharing good grief" which is bereavement support for those who have lost a child with down syndrome. The organization received contributed services valued at $25,550 and contributed facilities valued at $19,294 in connection with this program that are not included in program expenses.
