I began working with Shared Science as a volunteer when my daughter was in elementary school. The programming they were pioneering really excited me and my daughter. I realized the potential impact the creative and robust STEM curriculum could have. Fast forward 10 years, after having worked for Shared Science as an instructor and a director, I now proudly serve on the board as this organization continues to bring cutting-edge, engaging science and technology to kids around Long Beach. It has been my great honor to contribute to the establishment of the annual Tech Girls summer camp program. I love that this nonprofit strives to reach all kids in the greater Long Beach community.
Shared Science helps support and advocate for STEM ED for all kids in a fun, creative, and engaging manner. The amazing staff of instructors and aides help to curate, develop, and deliver content to keep our kid's minds active for future innovation. To be able to watch and see student growth within the program makes it all so worth it. The variety of classes offer every student a chance to dive into different programs such as hands-on engineering, tinkering, robotics, and coding.
Fantastic organization that allows students to explore high level STEM concepts at an early age using engaging activities that not only serve to teach students but show them that STEM can be fun. Students get the chance to work with legos, robotics, coding, and other project based learning activities that teach students valuable skills for a career in STEM. I think the most important thing Shared Science does is inspire an interest in science for demographics that are underrepresented in the STEM field.
Shared Science has been an outstanding resource for my STEM endeavors. I was connected to Shared Science when my FLL team needed to learn coding, and its classes were engaging and thorough. I appreciate the affordable, organized, hands-on aspect to classes, and I frequently recommend this nonprofit to those seeking great STEM opportunities for their children.

Shared Science is the only STEM education nonprofit advocate in Long Beach, CA. This organization has made a great impact on thousands of students in Long Beach and its greater areas. They lead robotics teams, host STEM events, and partner with local nonprofits to provide unique learning experiences. Shared Science instructors and class aides make learning fun through engaging and creative curriculum. Students learn basic engineering concepts, experiment with robotic technology, and gain creative computing skills.
