I have only been associated with Shades of Pink (SOPFCA) for a relatively short period of time, but quickly gained an appreciation for the dedication and concern the staff and volunteers have for the program and their constituents. Allocating resources to breast cancer patients undergoing treatment is a daunting task, one which the people involved meet with compassion and caring. It’s very inspirational to witness the motivation behind this organization, and I am proud and honored to be a part of trying to make a difference and impact within the community of patients undergoing treatment.
I have volunteered on numerous occasions to assist with fundraisers for Shades of Pink Foundation California. The events are always extremely well-planned, organized and executed. Guests always have a wonderful time supporting this philanthropy, and I frequently see the same guests returning many years for the fun annual events. Every detail is attended to, and nothing is left to chance, from the venue choice, set up, emcee, catering, timing, prizes, auctions, and decor, all the way to clean up. I have volunteered for many different philanthropies, and SOPFC stands out as a pleasure to help with because the fundraisers run so smoothly, and everyone has a great time.
This nonprofit foundation dedicates themselves to helping women that are in treatment thru a tough time. It’s a very thoughtful mission and one that I also feel strongly about. That’s why I picked Shades of Pink Foundation California as my beneficiary for my event, Bike for Boobs. By helping women financially, they are able to focus on their treatment and healing process. It makes it one less, but very big thing, that the cancer patient has to worry about. Knowing that there’s an organization out there that can help with their finances is a great relief for them. I am a cancer survivor and while we had good insurance at the time, I can’t imagine having to worry about the financial implications that come with getting a cancer diagnosis. This is an amazing organization, with an active board and a thoughtful mission.
I decided to get involved with Shades of Pink Foundation California (SOPFCA) because I like how the organization helps and benefits local women in my community. SOPFCA provides temporary financial assistance to women in my community during one of the most challenging times in their lives - while they battle breast cancer. Not only does SOPFCA provide these women with financial assistance to cover the day-to-day necessities that insurance does not, but SOPFCA's donations are facilitated by a unique group of women who truly make SOPFCA special. SOPFCA's board members and volunteers are women of all ages, from different backgrounds with different professional expertise who have come together to make a difference in our community. These women are strong, dedicated and passionate about the women we serve and I am honored to continue to support their efforts.
Shades of Pink has helped so many of our patients in need, people that couldn't pay their rent or mortgage during their treatment or didn't have enough money to pay their bills. They really are lifesavers! We're not sure what we would do without them!
The mission of this charity resonates with me for many reasons. I have been actively involved with several breast cancer-related charities, but I love Shades of Pink because it addresses individual patient needs in real-time, as opposed to long-term research (which is rather well-funded by larger organizations).
The leaders of Shades of PInk are dedicated and compassionate.
