CORE embodies its name. CORE has been at the center of dance in our arts community for longer than I have lived or danced in Atlanta. It has been a strong and steady constant that keeps our dance community connected and alive in the south, a place that is not always uplifting the arts as it should.

I feel incredibly lucky to work for this organization and provide a small part of the greater good that CORE exhibits to our neighbors, dance community, and patrons.

A couple years ago, a close friend became involved in CORE. Although I live in Florida, I was happy to support a group beyond my local area, where I support The Florida Ballet, a neighbor of my business. On a recent trip to Atlanta, I was able tour the CORE studios and attend a performance, which truly validated my continued support. Being able to see first-hand the creativity that had captured my friend's enthusiasm also captured me. CORE clearly is committed to developing programs of leading-edge creativity and to using their studios for the benefit of the arts community. I look forward to coordinating future visits to attend performances.

Several Dancers CORE is a remarkable arts organization and contributor to the creative landscape that impacts the human experience. CORE creates meaningful, community-centered work that is approachable, accessible, interactive and inclusive.

I have been closely involved with CORE over the past year as a Board member. Prior to that, I only knew about the company from a distance—primarily from their performances. During that time, I was working with colleagues to create an organization to support the local dance community and raise audience awareness throughout the region. CORE helped us get off the ground by supporting our efforts with staffing infrastructure, meeting space, marketing tools and mentorship... essentially helping us to help others.

Everyone at CORE sincerely cares about the people who can be touched by their art and helped with their resources, yet they are also humbled to be influenced and inspired by people for whom they perform and serve.

I first became aware of CORE about 10 years ago, when I was a dance critic for Creative Loafing. I greatly admired the performance company's globally diverse, intellectually expansive, and generously souled work. It was not until many years later, when I was asked to join the company's board of directors, that I came to understand the deep and far reach of this organization. So many dancers, choreographers, and other artists in metro Atlanta and Houston have either been a part of CORE or have grown through programs offered by CORE. So many people have had the opportunity to not only see but better understand dance through CORE's presentations. And so many people have been helped through CORE's community outreach programs. I'm proud to be a part of such a remarkable organization and to work with such amazing people.

I have served in different roles with Several dancers Core over the last 12 + yrs. I feel blessed to be involved with an organization that creates a sacred space for art and artistic process, actively finding ways to have a powerful impact on individuals and communities. There is so much more here than dance.

CORE has been a part of my life for the past 10 years and has been a strong, committed, and active part of the arts community for over 25 years. CORE provides many things for many people - from a free opportunity to see the creative process over lunch to a career as a dancer for the company members. CORE adds tremendously to the dance community not only by producing their own creative works on the stage but also by bringing in talented artists from around the world to share their work with the community. CORE helped me fulfill a personal lifelong dream of dancing and performing nationally and internationally - an opportunity that does not come along very often.

CORE enhances our community by creating and presenting contemporary dance as a vital means of human expression. I first attended a Lunchtime in the Studio event as a means of experiencing something that was new to me, and I was inspired by what I saw.

CORE is an organization that gives the the opportunity to live my dream as a performing artist. Not only that, I am also able to inspire others through dance by performing in schools for kids, working with the elderly, and reaching audiences in the formal theatrical setting. Core keeps me linked in to my community and the world around me by allowing me to pursue a dream!

I have been a contributor to CORE for nearly 20 years. I have seen them grow in numerous ways in the time that I have supported them, and they currently offer many opportunities for enhanced community life. Focused on supporting both working artists and the communities they serve through the work that they do, CORE makes the best use of the resources available to them as is possible. I would like to see CORE continue to focus on engaging the community in the early stages of developing programs and content, so that the community needs are at the forefront of the work that they do.

Several Dancers Core, for 30 years, has served the Decatur and Houston community with dance. It is amazing to work for an organization that has a hand on the local people and not just other artists and dancers. CORE gets to perform for people that may never get to see Contemporary dance and what a gift to give! I feel lucky to work everyday with creative people who are determined to make a dance non-profit staying the test of time!

As an arts administrator with more than 25 years of experience, I admire CORE Performance Company (Several Dancers Core) on many levels. Artistically they are committed to creating unique dance works in collaboration with fascinating partners from other mediums; administratively they foster a welcoming environment that engenders great communication and supports individual growth, all in service to the organizational goals.

CORE Performance Company is an artist driven contemporary dance company. The individual artists are committed to creating new dance works that connect to hearts and minds of their diverse audience. They bring their art form to senior community centers, children in need, as well as the "traditional" supporter of contemporary dance. Led by innovative Artistic Director Sue Schroeder the company has created work with international choreographers as well as company members. Currently celebrating their 30th Anniversary season, the company will premiere a new work, The Point by Schroeder on March 11-12, 2011 in Houston.
