Seven Generations Ahead is an amazing organization promoting environmental protection and sustainability. I have been involved with its youth program, It’s Our Future. This program supports high school students in their environmental advocacy by providing resources, training/education, opportunities to take action, and a community of activists to gain inspiration from. Overall, I highly recommended this organization for their commitment to the environment for our future and their dedication to youth engagement in environmental organizations by creating a supportive community that enables youth to create change.

Members of It's Our Future, one of SGA's programs, are self-selected as the most engaged and committed leaders in environmental justice in the Chicagoland area. The model of youth-led efforts with adults in the room has proved effective in this context and provided great benefits to everyone involved. Having a space for resource-sharing, networking between separate groups, and making friends within the youth climate space was incredibly valuable to me!

As a long-time Board of Directors member and volunteer for Seven Generations Ahead, it's no surprise that I'm a huge supporter of our team's hard work and accomplishments during the more than 20-years of our organization's history. From helping communities formulate and implement successful sustainability plans to our education work (focusing on all ages, include grade-schoolers and adults), we continue to flourish in our mission of making communities more sustainable! I encourage you to learn more about the many ways Seven Generations Ahead can make an impact in your community!!

The time I spent with SGA this past summer was a great experience. I learned so much from the staff, I always felt supported and I deeply the support the work they are doing in the Chicago area and beyond. They definitely put me to work from helping with events to doing research to troubleshooting technological difficulties. The reason I most enjoyed being a part of SGA's team was because I was able to play an important, if small, part in the kind of change that really matters: what and how families eat, how schools integrate health and sustainability, how communities view and practice sustainability and stewardship and so much more.

I would recommend being a part of this organization and their work to anyone!
