We adopted Penny from Sevadog, and just when we thought things couldn’t be better, we found out her sister Bandit still needed a home. We already had 2 little girls when we got Penny, but after falling so completely in love with her, when we learned Bandit was available, we couldn’t wait to get our hands on her. They have brought so much joy and laughter to our home we can hardly stand it. Thank you Sevadog, Mandy, and all of her staff. Mandy has an exceptional understanding of these critters and we really appreciated how much she cares for them.
We adopted a chihuahua mix who came from a hoarding situation. She joined the pack and now she is our favorite source of puppy hugs!
Sevadog is where we found our sweet boy. Mandy and her team do amazing work with dogs that have issues that make them harder to adopt. Our dog was found on under a car, alone and scared. The folks at Sevadog taught him how to be a young, playful pup! They definitely laid the groundwork for his learning to trust people again. He certainly still has some fear issues, but he is the sweetest guy, and he wouldn’t be the most treasured addition to our family had Sevadog not saved him.
I have been a volunteer with SevaDog Rescue for over four years and I am proud of the work we do.
Mandy Cracknell has a sanctuary and rescue in the country that saves dogs that would have little chance in a public shelter. SevaDog rehabs, trains and offers a loving environment for both short and long term dogs. Several of our dogs are Forever dogs and we will care for them for the rest of their lives. Mandy, Ryan and staff do incredible work with very little income and work hard to get the resources they need to serve their community. SevaDog deserves any dog lovers support.
I have been a volunteer with Mandy and SevaDog Rescue for over three years and I have seen how many dogs Mandy has saved and found good homes for. SevaDog is also a Sanctuary for some dogs who are our Forever Dogs. We care for them, play, train and exercise them to give them the most homelike life possible. At SevaDog, love comes first. Mandy works on a shoestring budget yet helps distribute food, supplies and training advice to other rescues. Mandy has an iron will to rescue, rehabilitate, and train our dogs and her record speaks for itself.
Love this Family run rescue that never gives up on even the most problematic behaviors.
This is an amazing facility for dog rescue… such a caring group of folks.
Dogs get individual customized attention and the necessary time it takes for them to rebuild trust for the then needed training so they can live contentedly in any home. Once adopted they will continue to receive a lifetime of support from Sevadog.
I’ve had 2 different opportunities to use Seva (Mandy & Ryan). The first was with a foster dog I had for a rescue I volunteer for who was fear & especially dog aggressive. Their work with Ollie gave the rescue an opportunity to rehome Ollie. Who is doing well and thriving in a multi-dog household and various dog mates. The second was for my husband’s and my 2 bull terriers that needed boarding, when the closing of our house had a problem, and they were with Mandy &Ryan for 7 weeks. I had full and complete confidence in their care away from us and both of them made time for our weekly visits a priority. The care was second to none, keeping us updated via text messages & photos/videos. So for both professionally & personal the dogs in their care was first rate.
SEVADOG saved our dogs! On very short notice, due to unforeseen circumstances, SEVADOG accepted our two dogs, Midge and Eddie Vegas, and protected and lovingly cared for them for 6+ weeks, until the blessed day that we could bring them home.
Mandy and Ryan and all the volunteers were wholly invested in their care, meeting their special needs and continually keeping us informed.
They promoted frequent visits, and it was obvious that Midge and Eddie remained joyful, playful and loving during their stay.
I’d strongly recommend anyone needing rescue to first consider SEVADOG. Mandy and Ryan have a true heart for what they do! I am so grateful they were there to help us.
SevaDog was a great experience! They were very professional, created a welcoming environment, and the staff as well as the dogs were wonderful and friendly.
Being a volunteer of the humane society, and a few other local non profits; I’ve been able to gauge what place intentionally creates belonging. SevaDog creates belonging for the animals they hold dearly, and the people who come to give a helping hand. If I had a million, they’d be my tax write off. Love sevadog, Mandy really does the most.
Sevadog cares for dogs in a way I have never seen before. Time and time again I have seen dogs that first arrive there looking defeated and by the end of their time at Sevadog they are the happiest dogs ever. This is because of the 24/7 work Sevadog puts into these little pup’s lives. They care so much for each individual one so extensively. I highly recommend Sevadog to anyone whether it’s wanting to volunteer, adopt, or donate, Sevadog is is the place to do that.
I’m in no way related, affiliated, friends-with, etc. to sevadog, so my recommendation is truly unbiased. I have never met a group that loves animals more than sevadog. Their unselfishness and devotion to the “unwanted”, last chance dogs is unmeasurable. If I could give them all the money in the world, I would. The money that goes to sevadog is spent ON THE ANIMALS and not a bunch of lofty admin costs. They give their everything to make sure these animals are cared for. All volunteers, all thru donations. There’s no better organization to partner with in my opinion.
So selfless and caring people run this organization. A great service to our community and the best part is....they love dogs. Everything they do is for the good of the animals. No kill, and often times last chance, they work so hard to make these dogs adoptable. I have volunteered periodically, and I highly recommend this great organization for dog adoption, training and boarding. SEVADOG is the real deal.
i just can't say enough how amazing and dedicated Mandy and her family is. I have been volunteering there three years and I have become Mandy's full time little dog person. It is so much more than a rescue. The transformation i have seen in these dogs is something I wish the community can see. Every dog there has suffered through so much hardship and Mandy, her family, and the volunteers really help these dogs heal physically, emotionally, mentally, I really don't think I'm ever going to meet someone with Mandy's dedication, love, passion, and her attitude of never giving up on a dog no matter how horrendous the behavior or the medical issues are. I'm always amazed what I learn from Mandy on a daily basis and the transformation I see in the dogs
A pleasure working with such a thoughtful rescue. Their work is so unique to a lot of the other groups I’ve worked with, and the time and care is unlike any other I’ve ever seen. Love sevadog
Sevadog goes so much further than just being a rescue. They train and socialize all of their dogs before they get adopted out. They live on-site with the dogs and their love and commitment to them is top notch. One of the few rescues that take in pitbulls, they have saved numerous pittys from certain death, as they were able to turn them around so that their true loving, sweet nature came through. Please support them financially so they can continue to do what they do so very, very well.
Great experience getting my pup! Mandy seems to really care about the dogs she homes. I'm happy to have adopted from Sevadog!
While I was living in Oregon my partner and I found our dog from Seva dog. We had to do a meet and great and a,home inspection before getting our loveable dog. He was rescued from a,hoarding situation and was given a new lease on life from this rescue. They truly have a love for animals.
I love Sevadog. I use them for boarding when we go out of town. They get the best care and usually hate to leave. They are an asset to our community.
I can't say enoung about Mandy and her crew at Sevadog. I have used them several times for boarding Jack and Dexter. When I come to pick them up they hate to leave. They get their own furnished room and a big yard to play in. Mandy and her crew work with then while they are there for some added training. She takes the time to give pupdates so you know how they are doing. Her passion and compassion for dogs is neverending.
How does one adequately describe the depth of love, caring, faith and sheer tenaciousness of this organization?
Mandy, family, dedicated volunteers and generous donors work wonders to save scores of abandoned and abused dogs. These dogs simply want what we human beings want - to feel safe and be loved. Sevadog makes this possible.
I adopteded my dog Monty early this summer from Sevadog. My trainer Liz Williams of Oregon Dog Sports spotted him for me. My life has been deeply blessed by this little guy.
Monty’s background - He was found abandoned and tied up to a fence with a broken leg. I’ll never understand how someone could be so heartless.
Monty was nursed back to health - both physically and emotionally. With Team Sevadog’s dedication, hours of care, sweat and tears and patience, his spirit has remained intact.
Monty is a greeter and lover of people and other animals, bright minded beyond belief and a creator of spontaneous smiles and new relationships.
These days, Monty is working his way to be a full fledged service dog for me. He is smart and inquisitive, calm yet highly alert - traits that help me safely navigate a world full of sounds that I can’t hear.
Mandy and all of you who are a part of Team Sevadog - by saving Monty and the other dogs you’ve saved/and will save, the impact you make is greater than you probably realize.
You are valued and appreciated. Thank you for never giving up on these beautiful souls!
I first learned about Sevadog’s incredible rehabilitation and rehoming skills through Hope for Paws. Sevadog was a highly regarded and trusted resource for helping frightened or less mannerly dogs get a new lease on life. Because of this, I reached out to Mandy and her team when our organization rescued a dog dealing with severe kennel stress. Mandy is calm, confident, knowledgeable, and tenacious. I trust Sevadog’s ability to assess a dog’s behavior and create ways to help the dog (and its future adopters) succeed. Sevadog is a gem of a resource and works wonders.
SevaDog is one of the best things that I have had the opportunity to work with. Mandy has taught me so much as a young girl about confidence, hard work, and determination. Even more, she is one of the most caring and hard working women I have ever met. She gives all of her efforts everyday to these dogs to give them a better life and to show them the love that they have never known, but have always deserved. She shows me everyday her selflessness and her love towards others. I feel so welcomed and appreciated everyday I’m at SevaDog and I’m so glad I’ve been able to work with this amazing crew.
Awesome dog rescue. They do wonders with dogs that other rescues and people say that there is no hope for problem dogs but Sevadog has been doing miracles for those dogs and all of their dogs. Kind compassionate and caring. Super rescue.
I actually adopted a wonderful pug with the help of SevaDog. In my case, it was actually rehoming a dog because her previous family had allergy issues, so with the help of SevaDog I met Jazzy, whom I adopted. She's a wonderful addition to our family (I already owned a pug and a Beagle and have learned how to walk three dogs at once.) I've worked closely with SevaDog over the past few years and have seen the dedication, love and training they give to each of the dogs in their care. I think it's a wonderful organization.
Mandie's rescue was near my house at one time time and I would see her walking her dogs nurturing her dogs caring for her dogs every day . She and her children were such an inspiration to me as I witnessed her true devotion and love for animals. One day my own dog my beautiful Shepherd Hope was having a hard time and Mandie came to my rescue and helped me with her I'll never forget her for that she was my angel. I love you Mandie I'll always love you for that day and for what I witnessed on my block every day as you and your family cared for those that no one cared about you're the best you're a true angel.
We adopted our little Maddie Moo from SevaDog and it was one of the best experiences ever. They worked with us to make sure that she would be a good fit for our family and allowed us to come in for training/introduction visits with our other dog before we finalized the adoption. We even utilize them for boarding and it puts my mind at ease knowing that my fur babies are in good hands while we're away.
Seva dog is a special rescue, not all rescues truly promise they will be there forever to a shelter dog but Seva truely does forever and no matter what to the hardest case most emotionally twisted and completely forgotten.
Thank you for caring more about those in your care then your own comforts and time.
I was first directed towards this rescue when I "found" a dog in Los Angeles and brought him back to Oregon. I needed to rehome him because my autistic son was abusing him. We loved him, and knew he was such a wonderful dog, but for his safety we knew it was best. I was referred to Mandy who did a courtesy listing for us. Since then, I have fostered/failed and she helped me out with our Zeus. I have brought all three of my young kids out to Sevadog to learn about how to treat animals. They have learned how to walk little hyper dogs, how to love on very nervous fearful dogs, and how to stuff kongs :) Sevadog is the most amazing dog rescue. The owner and the volunteers that make it up are the last hope for many dogs. Dogs that were once thought hopeless or euthanize only, have come out of their shell there. Have had their first tale wag, known LOVE for the first time. Mandy knows what a dog needs, and takes the time (as long as it takes) for the dog.......and never gives up. It is heartbreaking to see some of these dogs come in, but to see them after, this is why Sevadog is here. This is why there need to be more rescues like Sevadog. No dog is a lost cause! Even for the permanent dogs that will never leave Sevadog, they have a Sancuary, a place to call home, where they are played with, where they can trust, love and be themselves, and know that they don't need to worry, or fear again! I have two rescue dogs currently, but when I can, the next one will be from Sevadog!
Sevadog is a very special place. As a two time adopter and a regular volunteer for over two years, I have seen some amazing work by the most dedicated people. Dogs who arrive untouchable and unruly transform into loving companions under the guidance of Mandy, her children, and her crew. Their commitment to the dogs is unwavering and there is never a shortage of time, love, or patience for each and every dog. Once the hardships of their past has melted away to reveal the good dog inside great care is given to finding each dog the best possible home. Many misunderstood dogs are given one last chance at life with sevadog and it is a joy to be a part of!
When it became time for me to pursue volunteer work, I found SevaDog. I knew they saved dogs, "littles" and pit bulls. (I "work" with the pits. And by work, i mean socialize and play with them.) What I didn't know is that they rescue people too. They are the kindest people I've met in a long time, and their sincerity to really help dogs is over-the-top true.
Their facility is so clean you wouldn't guess there's more than one big dog in a building, much less 18! And it's quiet, too. The dogs are well treated, exercised, and loved, so when they're in their runs they are calm and relaxed.
Most of the pits have had issues and were going to be "put down" until SevaDog stepped in. SevaDog works diligently to heal their wounds, both physical and psychological, and train them to be proper ladies and gentlemen. I'm adopting one soon, and I swore to myself I wasn't going to fall for just one. Yeah, right! Haha. He's the golden one. I've named him Pax, which is Latin for Peace. The black one is Bruce, so named because he looks like Batman. Batman probably doesn't lay around with his tongue out, though.
Thank you for reading.
