Mission: The moment when a child enters the foster care system is a moment of extreme vulnerability and stress, and it can often be traumatic. Set To Thrive seeks to ease that moment, at least a little, by providing a custom bag filled with new, brand name essentials to help set each child on a path to thrive in their new home and community. Many children who enter the foster care system only have the clothes on their backs, and maybe little more. Each custom bag – called a Thrive Bag – is filled with a backpack or duffel, clothing, shoes and hygiene items, as well as other items to help ease the transition. Once Set To Thrive receives an order for a child, our goal is to have that youth’s custom-ordered Thrive Bag delivered within two days.
