STCP has been a blessing to me and everyone that we serve. Each act of kindness creates a bond within our community that can not be broken and serves as a testimony of servitude and unity. I am proud when I see STCP in the community and I am motivated by the work of STCP. They have touched so many lives and warmed so many hearts through simple; but big acts of kindness. Thankful to be part of the work and the mission!
Serve the City is THE BEST! I love all the opportunities STC gives me and so many others to give back to the community in which we live! Top notch organization! Join us!
I met Serve The City while volunteering at an event. I had an idea to beautify our East End neighborhood. I called STC and asked if they would help with my idea of cleaning up debris and trash, planting flowers, cutting shrubs and grass on my block. They said that’s exactly what we do! On the day of the beautification, they showed up like an army! We together made a big difference. Since then, STC has helped our community with painting for an elderly woman and many with small repairs. They even rebuilt a utility shed for our widowed neighbor. They live out their values with a smile! Thank you STC!
Serve the City (STC) is an awesome organization that serves the needs of the Peninsula! We have been blessed to serve as volunteers with STC on many Saturday mornings, beginning their very first day in Newport News, VA, a few years ago. It is a joy to serve with the other volunteers, either old friends or new folks who we have met for the first time serving. It’s very heartwarming to sometimes witness or at least imagine the impact we could be making in the lives of those who are less fortunate than most or simply down on their luck. There is no limit to how one can become involved serving on those special Saturday mornings, whether it is painting someone’s porch, picking up trash in the neighborhood or working with STC partners - a local diaper bank, a food closet or a furniture and clothes distribution center. The list goes on and on. STC truly makes a difference in the lives of those in need, and it is a privilege to be a part of it. What a blessing it is to give and not expect anything back other than know you have served in a small way to make a big difference in someone’s life.
When I think of Serve the City, amazing non-profit, kind hearts, and incredible people are words that come to mind! Volunteers come together to serve others with love and compassion to help the community and the environment, those with food insecurity, elderly, children at risk, and the list goes on. The relationships that are being formed between volunteers, as well as those we are serving, are a testament to Serve the City’s success. And we are always looking for more volunteers with a heart for serving
The organization does so much for the community and cities of Hampton, Newport News and Williamsburg. Every month they work with other non profits such as the food bank and elderly care facilities, but also go into the communities to help home owners that need that extra hand to keep their yard and home safe. An all volunteer group that lives by its motto!!
