My experience with Serendipity Wildlife Foundation so far has been great! I was welcomed with open arms and am very excited to work with them. The Cheetah identification education I received with Ravi Perera was fantastic and I learned so much! Grateful for this opportunity Serendipity has given me.

Very professional experience with the lodging/food/travel organized well in advance, along with integration of conservatory rangers/staff to do briefings. The drivers knew exactly where to go and had off-road permits to make the experience even better in the field. The field equipment/vehicles were very well maintained and enabled us to research at a high level and capture significant amounts of data for the overall project.

Serendipity Wildlife Foundation is an incredible nonprofit organization that is doing meaningful work in wildlife conservation, education, and rescue. As a volunteer, I've had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the foundation's commitment to protecting endangered species and promoting biodiversity.

One of the standout aspects of the foundation is its dedication to hands-on care and rehabilitation for injured, orphaned, or displaced animals. They provide a safe haven for these animals and work towards their recovery with the goal of releasing them back into the wild whenever possible. The staff and volunteers are passionate and knowledgeable, ensuring that each animal receives the best care and attention suited to its needs.

In addition to their rescue work, Serendipity Wildlife Foundation excels in its educational initiatives. Through outreach programs, school visits, and community events, they engage people of all ages in learning about wildlife conservation and the importance of protecting natural habitats. Their efforts to educate the public help to raise awareness about environmental issues and inspire positive change in the community.

The foundation's work is truly inspiring, and it's clear that everyone involved is dedicated to making a difference for wildlife. As a volunteer, I have been able to contribute to these efforts, and it's been an incredibly rewarding experience. The work Serendipity Wildlife Foundation does is vital to the preservation of wildlife, and I’m proud to be a part of it.

I had reached out to the Serendipity Wildlife Foundation looking for experience in wildlife conservation and soon after I had applied for the Cheetah Project, I was reached out to for an interview. Ravi Perera was who interviewed me and he was very informative, helpful, and kind. He made it very easy for me to understand what would be expected of me and how the project would go on a day to day. He also helped me with a volunteer internship that I now get to be apart of for their company, and I couldn’t be more grateful. The people involved in this organization want to see people succeed and learn in wildlife conservation and management and they encourage you and have their best interest for you. I have only been with this foundation for a short period of time but I have never felt more welcomed and encouraged in any type of job or volunteer position. I am very excited and proud to be apart of Serendipity Wildlife Foundation.

I was associated with Serendipity wildlife foundation through the cheetah project and also as a editor for a few videos. The experience i have had with them would be one of my best so far. I can say this because it has almost been 2 and a half years that i know the people there and i appreciate the way they work. Their proffesionalism is impeccable. But all of them are very friendly. You wont be dissapointed with their speed of communicating over the mail, as everyone expects quick responses. Customer needs are undrstood very well by them.
Not only this but the core members are wildlife lovers and enthusiasts, photographers, zoologists and what not.
This is one of the NGO's that actually does a lot of work than advertising.
I would definitely suggest anyone who wants to go for a safari, volunteer for the cheetah project and have loads of fun. Serendipity Wildlife Foundation is the way to go!

Working with Serendipity Wildlife Foundation has been inspiring and rewarding. The CEO and Founder, Ravi Perera, has an unwavering passion and dedication to preserve and protect wildlife. Their mission, to track and monitor cheetahs, coupled with systematically pursuing poachers, is a testimony to their level of commitment. Under his leadership, Serendipity has brilliantly assembled various teams in Kenya, with a single goal of monitoring the fastest cat on the planet. Educating students, professionals, locals, and trackers is of utmost importance to the Foundation.

Additionally, the B35 project in Sri Lanka seeks to protect misguided elephants who pursue moving vehicles in search of food. Through research and knowledgeable team members, they continue to look for ways to benefit both the locals and the elephants.

I look forward to continuing to serve in the capacity of board member, as I learn about the magic of wildlife, alongside our esteemed team of professionals as they navigate the challenges that our wildlife faces globally and environmentally.

I spent 2 weeks at Loisaba Conservancy on the Cheetah Project, and it was an incredible experience. Ravi and Nisha were both amazing and fun mentors and it was awesome to see the amount of effort and work being put in by the foundation for cheetah research. It was also awesome to see first hand the close relationships that the foundation had with the conservancy staff, which not only helped us find the cheetahs, but also helped the conservancy to educate and raise awareness about the importance of cheetahs in the ecosystem. It was an unforgettable learning experience and opportunity for me, and hopefully will go back someday.

As a professional in communications field, joining the Serendipity Wildlife Foundation has been one of the most enriching experiences of my life. With no prior experience in wildlife conservation, I initially saw my role as strictly communication-focused. However, being part of such a passionate and impactful organization opened up a world of learning for me, and I have developed a deep interest in wildlife conservation along the way.

One of the most memorable experiences was working on the B35 project in Sri Lanka. This initiative focused on educating communities about the importance of not feeding wild elephants, aiming to protect both the animals and the people. Being in the field, witnessing the elephants up close, and engaging with local communities was an eye-opening and humbling experience. It allowed me to see the critical balance required between human and wildlife coexistence and how impactful education can be in fostering conservation efforts, especially with all the education and knowledge I received with Mr Ravi, the CEO.

Through my time with Serendipity Wildlife Foundation, I’ve gained not only professional insights but also a newfound appreciation for the delicate ecosystems we strive to protect. It has been an absolute privilege to contribute to such meaningful work, and I look forward to continuing this journey with a stronger commitment to wildlife conservation.

My name is Juliana,a volunteer from Kenya.
I am passionate about environmental conservation and I am really glad to be part of this organization as it provides me an opportunity to actively participate in the great conservation.
I have been engaged in the organization of other volunteers in the Annual March walk in Kenya for sensitization of the endangered species .
Being part of this Initiative has not only helped me gain knowledge of the various ways to live peacefully with the wildlife but also gain skills like the Cheetah identification.
The exchange program available for students from various parts of the world provides exposure to learn different conservation initiatives affecting the respective countries and others as well.
This promotes a future community that is aware of the ways and benefits of the conservation.
I would recommend anyone to be part of this great initiative by joining or supporting the foundation financially as it is entirely voluntary.

Very glad to be here.

I was lucky to join SWF as a volunteer for the Cheetah Research Project. Being a member of the team unable me to experience on first hand different roles involved in a conservation project. From setting camera traps to analyze photo ID and monitoring cheetahs’ behavior. All has been conducted in a very professional way. Not to mention the beautiful location of the project and the nice moments spent with the rest of team, having fun together. I would recommend to join SWF and experience their conservation programs.

I was part of the Cheetah Project batch which worked in Kenya during the month of July in 2022. This is a cheetah research project held in the Ol Pejeta private conservancy. Approximately 5 months before the project for my batch began, we were subject to cheetah identification and team training sessions which would prepare us for the project in the field (training was done online). Once in Kenya, we were given the best treatment by the conservancy on behalf of the foundation, in addition, we had certain special allowances as we were a research team ( for instance, offroad allowances to follow our subjects closer than other guests could, allowance to plant camera traps in locations of our choosing). In addition to the above, the teams were given the privilege of meeting the last Northern white rhinos in the world who are under strict, 24-hour protection within the conservancy. The other opportunity we got, which was my favorite by far, was meeting the Anti-Poaching and K-9 unit who we got the chance to follow through the bush on foot, in a scent tracking demonstration.
The entire experience was absolutely Exhilarating from start to finish and I would 100% go again if I could.

Oh and for anyone it may concern my name is Rahal Rambukpota, Im 22 and I'm born, raised and living in Sri Lanka. What I'm saying is the foundation doesn't discriminate, if you have the passion you have a huge chance.

As a volunteer for Serendipity Wildlife Foundation I have seen first hand all the work that every volunteer puts into saving wildlife and bringing awareness. SWF is always actively bringing forward new projects and sticking to their goal to protect and conserve wildlife for future generations. One of their biggest projects recently was The Cheetah project that brought volunteers from all over the world to be able to identify Cheetah's in Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya, and they were so successful! I can't wait to see how this information will help the Cheetah population in Kenya.

They're doing some amazing work in Sri Lanka by training the Department of Wildlife Conservation with crime scene investigation and evidence collection, which is a first in Sri Lanka. Such state-of-the-art training will greatly help Sri Lanka combat wildlife crimes. I was also privileged to witness their commendable work in Kenya where they provide expertise and equipment to wildlife rangers. It was impressive to learn that the sanctuary receiving their help has accomplished zero poaching in the last few years thanks to these efforts. May the Foundation be blessed more to continue their one-of-a-kind work in assisting developing nations like Kenya and Sri Lanka protect their fast dwindling wildlife for future generations.

Acts against wildlife such as poaching and trafficking can be extremely disheartening to think about. However, the Serendipity Wildlife Foundation works hard to defend wildlife and bring these cruel acts to an end. World’s wildlife population is dwindling. We see more wildlife falling into the endangered list due to illegal poaching/trafficking, habitat loss & hunting. What better organization to help fight against wildlife extinction than Serendipity Wildlife Foundation. This foundation does wonderful work in Kenya and Sri Lanka and need all the support they can get. I highly recommend this non profit.

I have enjoyed working with Ravi, who is a dedicated forensics expert working with animals in both Kenya and Sri Lanka. He has given his time and focus to Serendipity for years, even while working full time. His program has animals' interests front and center and I have gladly donated items for their trekking in Africa, as well as his fundraiser in Sri Lanka.

I plan to continue to work with Ravi, who is passionate about wildlife, and support him as he gives a voice to animals when they have none.
