By far the worst animal shelter I have encountered! Their screening process for adoption of shelter pets is personal by interviewers by dress, color and race! They have no 99 volunteers. Maybe 50-. Report to IRS @ a loss, also incorrect. THEY ARE WELL SUPPORTED THROUGH THE THRIFT SHOP WHICH IS DONATED MANY COLLECTABLES OF VERY HIGH VALUE! These are also sold for huge profits not reported. Animals in need of help homing are refused not rescued, they are left at killing shelter as not undesired for their shelter. They only house 25 or less dogs which are mostly the animal permanent home. This is to keep no room for new animals which need more attention. They are no help in the community and they DON'T TEACH CHILFREN ABOUT DOG ABUSE. THE SCHOOL REQUESTED THERE TRAINING ONLY TO BE TOLD NO ONE IS AVAILABLE! DO NOT SUPPORT THIS CAUSE IT WOULD BE A HUGE WASTE OF MONIES FOR YOUR DOLLAR WILL BE TAKEN FOR ADMIN ABUSE!
DON'T THINK FOR A SECOND THIS NON-PROFIT NEEDS HELP FROM YOUR DOLLARS, THEY DON'T!

Sequoia Human Society has a Thrift Shop which supports some of the benefits provided by this non-profit. In reviewing 990 IRS for 2010 I see it listed with incorrect data $$. This store brings in min $500 daily. This non-profit doesn't follow the laws set forth for non-profit inter prizes nor do they profit from events held. I know for a fact Sequoia doesn't supply $$ for up-keep on the store (not even toilet paper)! The events make $$ not reported. Dogs are kept for years at the shelter by changing the income date on file. Their executive's are paid high $$ not reported! But, they say they have no money? Think twice before donating to this non-profit for helping and saving dogs and cats. The money is being used for other purposes not related to the animals like staff salaries not reported......
