I have had a terrific experience with Sentinels of Freedom. They truly care about helping disabled veterans recover from their injury and transition out of the military. Their professional career coaching, financial planning, and other assistance has been one of the best things to happen to me and my family. Would highly recommend Sentinels to any veteran that qualifies for their program.

By far one of the best non-profits for wounded veterans. What Mike has done with Sentinels of Freedom is beyond comparability. No other non-profit has put severely wounded warriors in a better position to succeed long-term than SOF. Along with helping Warriors achieve their short-term academic and business goals by providing housing and financial assistance, Sentinels of Freedom lays the groundwork for lifelong achievement with financial planning and mentors. This "total package" approach is what truly distinguishes it from other non-profit veteran service organizations (VSO). No other VSO provides such a hands on and life changing experience.
I am so fortunate to be a recipient of such generosity and kindness. Without Sentinels of Freedom I don't know where I would be today.

The Sentinels of Freedom provides specific services for wounded and disable veterans that can qualify. Unfortunately not every veteran qualifies nor do they receive enough donations to help every one that would qualify. Their main effort is to provide an educational scholarship and relocation services for the veteran and their family. It is not a charity in the traditional sense. The veteran selected for the program needs to be able to and commit to a 3-4 year program and work through the program to accomplish their goal. The SOF receives recommendations for their scholarships directly from military commands like the Joint Chiefs of Staff, DoD, Commandant of the Marine Corps and many others. I've worked with them first hand and have met a number of vets in the program and I can highly recommend them. However, applicants will have to pass specific conditions to be accepted.
Called Sentinels of Freedom Scholarship Foundation asking for help with my wounded son (100% disabled, retired from the U.S. Army, wounded in action - and 100% permanent and total disability rating from the Department of Veterans Affairs). Sam story as all other so called Veterans Charity Organizations. Was given nothing but reasons why my son could not receive any assistance from them. Just another scam. These con artists trot out a one or two (or a few more) Vets as an example of "how good they are to Vets" without really helping very many of them. Give your money directly to a Vet and stay away from the so called Vet Charity Organizations (Wounded Warrior Family Support is one exception. They are O.K. and help Vets and their families.)
