Programs: Home care/respite: we help seniors if there is a need for the activities of daily living such as: personal care, light chores, light meal preparation, bathing/grooming, transportation and companionship. This service relieves the caregiver so they have quality time for themselves.

home delivered chef prepared meals: seniors enjoy a freshly prepared meal each weekday. These meals are heart healthy, low sodium and diabetic if needed. We have wonderful volunteers who deliver the meals. The individual not only receives a nutritious meal, they enjoy a visit from the caring volunteer as well.

medical alert is a 24/7 service giving the senior an extra level of safety in the home. The senior can press a waterproof button (usually necklace style) to call for help to the nearest relative/neighbor, friend or ems (if needed). Sometimes they may just need someone to talk to and it's not an emergency. The fall sensor button is designed to activate the alert if the person falls and doesn't get up or push the button in thirty seconds. We offer contract-free full service. Our local representative teaches the senior how to use it and we will return to replace buttons and batteries when needed. Our staff is also notified if the button is pushed so we may follow up with the individual and the family to ensure everyone is safe.

prescription medication dispenser: this is an in-home system that helps manage the complex medication regime seniors often face. The monitored dispenser, often called "the pill lady" prevents the senior from common mistakes such as taking doses at the wrong time or taking incorrect amounts. If the senior misses taking a dose at a designated time, the system contacts the caregiver which provides a complete loop of protection for the senior. Escorted transportation: this is a door to or through door service. Volunteers drive senior clients to the doctor, grocery, short personal errands; visit a friend or even the beauty/barber shop. (limited areas - please call to determine which areas we can service. ) desk mates: we provide personal assistance with basic financial and household tasks such as organizing records, sorting mail, making sure bills are getting paid on time and helping avoid financial scams. Consultations, assessments, information and referrals: we offer free assessments to help the senior and his/her family members know what the best is for that senior. We can consult over the phone or meet with the family in the comfort of their home. Westport seniors: monthly gathering for seniors.
